Shawty Lo Talks 50 Cent Connections

New G-Unit business partner Shawty Lo recently spoke about his relationship with 50 Cent and why he says he relates so much with the G-Unit general. Saying their connection is deeper than just music, Shawty Lo says they both experienced the same things.

"Basically our similar life stories coming up," Shawty Lo said referring to 50. "My life, how I was raised by my grandmother and she passed. His life with his mother. Similar situations. We're cut from the same cloth. My grandmother raised me, my mother was on drugs, my daddy was elsewhere, my grandmother died of cancer when I was 17 years old. I've been on my own since then...I feel like what he is to New York, I am to Atlanta." (XXL Mag)

In related news, Shawty Lo recently promised fans that he would not be a one-hit-wonder under the G-Unit deal.

"That's an easy question. I'm not an artist. I am a boss and an artist. A lot of artists, depend on the label to do everything. I don't depend on the label to do everything; I have my own label, so I'm a boss and an artist." (VIBE)

Young Jeezy Says Release Date Is Final

After multiple delays, Young Jeezy says that his new "TM 103" album release is set in stone. "It's locked, it's dead-locked. It's time to go! September 20, how y'all want it," he told MTV News. Recently backstage at a show in Atlanta, Young Jeezy explained he didn't want to put out bad music just so he could make a release date.

"At the end of the day, I'm not about to give nobody no music to make a deadline, I'm gonna give them something to live and die by. If it ain't classic, it ain't monumental, I don't want to be a part of it. I make hits, man. I make classics. I can't just give somebody something just 'cause it's time. It's better late than never baby, trust." (MTV)

T-Pain Sues The Makers Of Auto-Tune

Once a huge supporter of the "Auto-Tune," T-Pain is now suing the company behind the music-effect software, Antares Technologies. Recently, T-Pain stopped using "Auto-Tune," ended his endorsement deal with Antares and created a company with a company Izotope to create his own "T-Pain Effect."

Yesterday (July 25th), the R&B singer filed a lawsuit claiming that the maker of "Auto-tune" is still using his image and likeness in their advertisements, packaging and marketing materials for their software. T-Pain also says that Antares even has licensed his name and image to other companies without his permission. The hit-singer is asking for at least $1 million dollars in damages.

Big Boi Hopes To Reunite With Andre 3000

Outkast's own Big Boi recently spoke about music mogul L.A. Reid becoming the Epic Records chairman and how he hopes the executive's promotion will help reunite him with Andre 3000. Big Boi says he hopes to get Andre 3000 on his upcoming "Daddy Fat Sax" sophomore solo album.

"I think it's very much possible because we have L.A. Reid in our corner now, and he was the first to sign Outkast," Big Boi said, referring to the record executive's recent jump from chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group to Epic Records. If all goes well, that move should undo the label roadblocks (Big Boi has a solo deal with Def Jam, while Outkast is signed to Jive) that kept the pair's "Lookin' for Ya" collaboration off of Big Boi's 2010 solo debut, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Game Talks Joining Cash Money

The Game's upcoming "R.E.D." Album will be the last for his contract with Interscope Records. The West Coast rapper recently told XXL magazine that he's been talking with Birdman about maybe joining Cash Money next.

“I talk to Baby everyday. We been playing with the idea of going over to Cash Money or trying to marry that and Black Wall Street. So, we’ll figure it out before the end of the day. I definitely think that’s where I’ll probably end up. Cause they winning, they want to win and I been winning and want to continue to win.” (XXL Magazine)
