Kendrick Lamar Explains Top Dawg's Success

Kendrick Lamar vouches for TDE and its chairman, during a Q&A video taken during his Billboard shoot. We now know Kendrick is planning to release a new album in September, but Kendrick took a pause to consider his success so far. Coming off of the heels of the Good Kid fumes and Schoolboy Q's Oxymoron's successful launch, Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment are making their way towards a cultural zeitgiest. Kendrick explains to Billboard why TDE has seen such a success. “What our thing is is not really being confined to what everybody else is doing or what’s supposed to be the ‘it’ thing," says Lamar. "We built our brand just by doing what we wanted to do to, the sound that we liked and love and people followed that." Kendrick also spares some words of praise for the Top Dawg CEO, Anthony Tiffith. He says: “It may not be music. It could be having gas money. He could have some type of love for you and respect for you, he’s gonna help you by any means, and that pertains to my career. That pertains to Q career. That pertains to the whole TDE. He just wants to see people achieve their goals.” When it comes satiating dreams and crossing goals off a checklist, Top Dawg truly has succeeded in making people achieve their goals. TDE also has made a lot of money off of seeing those lofty goals achieved, but that's another story. How do you think TDE handles itself as a label? What do you think it's doing differently or is it much of the same? Watch the full interview below.

Pharrell Sees "G I R L" As An Ode To Women, Admits It's Not Perfect

Pharrell sat down with The Breakfast Club to talk about his new album, hitting stores March 4th. You can already stream Pharrell's G I R L album in entirety and the record itself is getting an enthusiastic response. While the cover artwork was criticized, Pharrell made an effort to downplay the controversy saying critics misses his point entirely. It turns out Pharrell saw this album as an "ode to women, period." He highlighted the hook on his upcoming "Marilyn Monroe," track, detailing the lyrics as: "Not even Marilyn Monroe, Cleopatra, see. Not even Joan of Arc, that don’t mean nothing to me. I just want a different girl.'" As big as Pharrell is right now, it is hard to imagine that Pharrell was seemingly inactive for a spin before blowing back up again in 2013. The Breakfast Club asked him about this perceived downtime, to which Pharrell responded: "A lot of the records you're hearing now were records I made about two to three years ago and people weren't necessarily up for them," the hit maker says, "They were mistaking it for being really pastiche and they going 'oh, it's a throwback.' No, it's not a throwback. In fact, there are more 808s and loops in yours. But that's okay, because things will evolve and, you know, people will want to do something different and you just have to wait." Before ducking out of the interview, Pharrell adds, "and by the way, it's not perfect. You're going to find flaws. You wanna know why? Because I'm a human being, but I hope that at the end of the day, when it all blows away, what's at the bottom of the pot is you're offering my attention." He continues, "I'm 41, I wasn't going to make this album, I was going to stick with my NERD core, like regional - just continuing producing and, you know, do scoring and that was it. But all of a sudden it's like God came out of nowhere and wanted me to do this record and I instantly knew who I wanted to make this record about and that's the people who have been taking care of me for the last 20 years." You can listen to the full interview below.

Kendrick Planning To Drop New LP In September

As we reported earlier today, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q have locked down Billboard's latest issue with both MCs appearing on the cover. Now the full cover story has been released on Billboard, and as the headline indicates, it's more about the entire Top Dawg story than any one MC signed to TDE. The cover story comes with some interesting bits of information, the most important of which is the fact that Kendrick Lamar is preparing a new album for this coming September. K. Dot and TDE have kept any details about a new LP tightly under wraps, and this is the first actual piece of confirmation we've received from the camp. Through out the interview with Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith, Dave Free, Kendrick and Q discuss their respective come-ups, as well as those of Jay Rock, SZA and Isaiah Rashad, while Tiffith details his business acumen. One such example: "I had a little trick to make sure we hit No. 1 on iTunes," Tiffith says. "All records come out on Tuesday then peak after the first few days. When they were on the way down on Friday, that's when I'd drop TDE's shit - and we'd zoom right to the top. Even if we got to the top of the charts by selling 200 copies, we still had the perception of being No. 1, and people paid attention." Near the end of the story is when we receive the gems: Billboard states that Free (TDE's co-president) thinks that the long-anticipated Black Hippy album may arrive this year, while Tiffith indicates that Kendrick Lamar has a new album coming in September. Read the excerpt below. Meanwhile, Free thinks the long-awaited debut from Black Hippy - the supergroup featuring Lamar, Q, Rock and Ab-Soul - is likely to appear in 2014; Tiffith indicates that TDE is planning to release a new Lamar album this coming September, too. Who's excited?

Wale Tattoos Biggie & Tupac On His Legs

Wale pays homage to both the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac with new tattoos. Tattoos are a big part of hip-hop culture, we've seen many rappers pay homage to their favorite artists or notable figures by way of their tattoos. Drake tatted Aaliyah on himself (as well as his dad's mugshot), while Game paid respects to Trayvon Martin and Nate Dogg, among others, this past year with new tattoos. The latest rapper to pay tribute in the form of a tattoo is Wale. The MMG rapper recently inked both the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac on his legs. The D.C. native took to Instagram to post some photos of the process as well as the final result, shouting out his tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado. Wale recently confirmed that his Album About Nothing is due out in the fall, and he's obviously back on his Twitter tip after taking a recent hiatus, which was explained in an open letter that you can check out here. The rapper has also been dropping some freebies for the fans lately, including a remix of "Clappers" with Rick Ross, Fat Trel and Young Thug, as well as a remix of "Show Me Love" with Troy Ave and MMG's Magazeen.

Da Brat Ordered To Pay Ex-NFL Cheerleader $6.4 Million For Assault

Da Brat has been ordered to fork over $6.4 million to her bottling victim from 2007. Da Brat has already served a three-year sentence after she pled guilty to aggravated assault in 2007, when she violently hit an ex-NFL cheerleader with a bottle inside an Atlanta nightclub. Although she's served her sentence (not to mention community service hours), she hasn't finished paying for the crime yet. Shayla Stevens, who cheered for the Atlanta Falcons, filed a civil lawsuit against the femcee, and a verdict was just reached the other day. The jury found that Da Brat responsible for Stevens' permanent facial scarring, neurological impairment, and severe mental pain. The jury awarded the victim a total of $6.4 million, to cover her past and future loss of wages as well as all her injuries from the violent incident. They first awarded Stevens $3.7 million, but tacked on another $2.7 million as added punishment.

Kendrick Lamar & ScHoolboy Q Cover Billboard Magazine

TDE's Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q appear on the new issue of Billboard magazine. There's no denying that Top Dawg has come up. With ScHoolboy Q's highly anticipated Oxymoron album about to take over the Billboard 200 and debut at #1, and with Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city still doing numbers on the charts, both rappers have been tapped by Billboard to cover their upcoming issue. The cover reads the "The Tale Of Top Dawg" with both K. Dot and Q sitting on a couch, Q repping a TDE sweater and Kendrick rocking Red Octobers. Peep the cover below.

www.mixtapedrop.info Exclusive Interview @CyhithePrynce talks #BlackHystoriProject, What its Like Working With Kanye West in the Studio!

Mixtapedrop.info: We choppin it up with Cyhi The Prynce, Cyhi Whats Good Bruh? Cyhi The Prynce: Man What it do Bruh we out here working man, just dropped this new project man its going crazy right now. Mixtapedrop.info: So You Have the new Mixtape out now called Black Hystori Project? Tell us the story behind the title and the message you are bringing with this project? Cyhi The Prynce: Um, Well I thought of the project because my little nephew tried to do his black history project on me. And when he went to school they told him he couldn’t do it because I wasn’t famous enough or impactful enough and I took it a certain kinda of way cause I Feel like I touched a few people. So I said Fuck it I’ll do the black history project myself. That was my way of kinda doing it so I’ll always be known for the black history project. I understand they taking out of a lot of the schools and different things like that. So I just wanted to kinda keep their message alive. A lot of the records and a lot of the people I reference are just people that meant a lot to me growing up or that I respected. I feel like im a great leader or looking to be a great leader and I want use some of the characters to bounce off of and give us a cool perspective as I did the records. Mixtapedrop.info: You have the New Single Huey feat. King Louie, Explain the concept of the single and what made you grab King Louie for the feature? Cyhi The Prynce: Me and King Louie we work together a lot . We were out in LA and I was playing the beat at Kanye House and Louie was over there and Louie was like you that beat crazy you should let me jump on that. I was like fuck it you can jump on it. I really wasn’t going to have too many of features but then I was like I wanna do some features with guys that I respect on a personal level that friends so I just got a couple guys that I like on a personal level Louie was one of those. That was a one of the ones we wanted to release first to set the tempo. But I got some bigger records and I got a single called “Good Night” that ya’ll will be getting shortly. Mixtapedrop.info: Recently Got A Chance to see the “Napoleon” Video. Seems Like your rapping like somebody told you you couldn’t rap. Like you got a chip on your shoulder. Whats the reason for you rapping with a vengeance? Cyhi The Prynce: Ye really told me to stop being humble. That was like the biggest break. I just feel like I don’t get respected as far as music in Atlanta. I feel like Atlanta, were known for one sound and we do these strip club records. These labels they will put so much into that artist and he’s gone in a year. I’ll drop a mixtape and he’ll drop a mixtape and my mixtape will do better than his. Cause I ain’t a “Real Street Nigga” or they feel like I aint buzzin in Atlanta or in the strip club every night they feel like I’m not just as important as this artist that’s on the radio. That’s why I Said I don’t want to do no Atlanta Music. I just do all my music and I feel I have a real east coast style a real lyrical style. I just stick to my guns, Im tired of trying to make this perfect record or make this record the labels want me to make. Im like man Im a god MC, Literally. I’m just gone stick to my god flow. You want some god flow on your record call me. Mixtapedrop.info: So When Can we expect a new Album Project from you? Also do you have a title for it? Cyhi The Prynce: Right now we in the midst of talking. You Know I just dropped this project so everybody wanna call now. So were just trying to put it all together. But were looking for later this year. That’s what were really looking for. Were gonna do a lot of different things throughout year to make sure this happen and this album drop. So be looking for me to be coming out with more projects and more music. Mixtapedrop.info: You have Kanye executive producing your next album. What is it like working with a super producer like Kanye in The Studio? Cyhi The Prynce: More so Like AP Calculus or something. You Know Most guys that don’t have a responsibility when they rap, they can go in ther and have fun, pop bottles and drank lean. Me on the other hand were really in there and its like work. We feel like we have a responsibility to the fans, to the people to really give them a message and still have fun. Also give them some art, also give them some style and some asthetic. And give them the same things in the music. We need some physical records , some conceptual records, some heartfelt records. Then you want your party record. So its like a bunch different things and a bunch of different ideas we go over, A bunch of different conversations before we even start the album. We Might talk for two or three weeks prior to even thinking of a project. That’s mainly what I’m doing gathering up all the producers I want to work with, the concept behind it, how I want it to feel. Its a lot of things that go into it but were getting it together now. Mixtapedrop.info: Since everybody looks for a Kanye Rant Session Nowadays. Have you ever witnessed a Kanye Rant in the studio or is he just business as usual? Cyhi The Prynce: It’s only a rant when it ain’t true (Laughs). I don’t look at it as a rant. I look at it as Michael Jordan telling everybody pass me the ball. Michael Jordan say pass me the ball you aint gone be like Michael Jordan why you ranting. No, Michael Jordan say pass me the ball you pass him the ball and get the fuck out the way. So, I’ve never witnessed one of those. Mixtapedrop.info: Whats next for Cyhi the Prynce as an artist for 2014? What’s on your plate this year. Cyhi The Prynce: I’m gonna be doing a lot of touring this year. I got a couple more projects I want to put out later in the year to set up my album. I’m just gone go in. I want to see who can out rap me, Because I haven’t met him yet. So I’m just hoping he run into me so I can give him his respect. Other than that just god flow. Mixtapedrop.info: Any exclusive information you want to give us on any upcoming projects or something nobody else knows about whats going on wit Cyhi. Anything you want to leave us wit that we might not have covered? Cyhi The Prynce: Its really not to much exclusive. I just really want everybody to understand I’m putting out a lot of good music this year. Hopefully everybody like it and goes an gets it. I need all my fans to support so we can get this album out an these projects everybody wants to hear out. This is real honest music, this is really me. I really be trying to play the cut and give everybody they turn to shine. I feel like this is my year, this is my turn. I want to let everybody know this is who I am. Growing Up I never lost nothing, track meats, talent shows, football games I wasn’t a loser. I’m not saying im a loser now but I just don’t like the position im in. I just want to Turn Up and let them know I’m one of the best to ever do this. I’m respected by some of the greatest Mixtapedrop.info: How can the people reach you on social networks etc. Cyhi the Pynce: Everything is CyhiThePrynce. My instagram is the number 1 then CyhiThePrynce. You can email me,fax, me instagram me, send a picture whatever. Mixtapedrop.info: We Appreciate you checkin in wit us and we are ready to support whatever you got going on, aight! Cyhi The PRynce: Lot of people don’t know Im a real south dude. Im from the south, I represent the south and we really rappin. Guys like J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T. just to name a few I feel like we the new genereation, Isaiah. I just want to be a part of that and push the music forward. Check Out Cyhi The PRynce "Black Hystori Project" and Visuals of "Huey" Below:

Rihanna To Release Concept Album Based On Animated Film

The singer will record for, and star in, 3D children's film "Home". It appears that Rihanna has been casted as a voice actor in the upcoming animated film "Home". To coincide with that, RiRi will also release a concept album based on the film as well, according to Variety. Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation, announced this news a couple days ago on Tuesday during the company's quarterly earnings call. He also revealed that Rihanna will perform new songs for it, but did not provide any titles or release date for the album. The upcoming movie revolves around a group of aliens that escape their enemies by hiding out on Earth. Originally entitled "Happy Smekday!", the 3D film is based on author Adam Rex's 2007 children's book "The True Meaning of Smekday". Rihanna will play the film’s teen protagonist, Gratuity "Tip" Tucci, and star alongside Jim Parsons, Jennifer Lopez and Steve Martin. The film is currently set for a November 26th release date via 20th Century Fox. I have a feeling this will do much better than "Battleship".

Drake Splits From PR Team After "Rolling Stone" Controversy

Drake and his PR Team split ways after their recent "Rolling Stone" debacle. Two weeks after Drake slammed Rolling Stone Magazine for swapping out his planned cover story for Philip Seymour Hoffman, the rapper and his PR firm, ID-PR, have parted ways, according to Billboard. Drake had been working with ID for the past year to handle publicity for his third album Nothing Was the Same, as well as his current "Would You Like a Tour?", which just saw Kanye West embrace the stage in Berlin with Drizzy. According to a source, ID initiated the split soon after the Rolling Stone debacle. In a statement made to Billboard, ID said, "Drake is an incredibly talented artist and we're proud of our results for Nothing Was the Same and Would You Like a Tour? We wish him the best." Prior to ID, Drake was repped by The Chamber Group, while management had been previously handled by The Blueprint Group (Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj) before he consolidated with OVO's Oliver El-Khatib Adel and "Future the Prince" Nur.

ScHoolboy Q Speaks On Origin Of Name & Pill Addiction

Shoolboy Q explained where his rap name came from, recalled his experiences with addiction, and broke down the themes and sequencing of his albums on NPR. ScHoolboy Q released his major label debut, Oxymoron just this week, but he's been conceptualizing it for years. In an extensive interview with NPR, Q spoke at length about the themes and titles he chose for his albums in advance, the origin of his name, as well as his battle with addiction. “Honestly, this album—if you look at all my albums, even the titles, Setbacks, Habits & Contradictions, Oxymoron, they play off each other’s meaning,” said Q. “You get what I’m saying? If you look at the covers. They all black and gray. Like all my albums is all—if I picture a color in my head of my albums, I would picture black and gray. For example, Kendrick last album. I would call that purple. Purple and like yellow almost. You know what I’m saying? But all my albums I feel like they always dark. It has that eerie little feel to it. But with this album—'cause Habits & Contradictions is like the prequel to Setbacks. Like I had all these titles already in my head. Like before I even dropped them. Setbacks I knew that was gonna be the first. I knew Habits & Contradictions. I knew Oxymoron. I got two more albums that I already have the title to and I know how I’mma play the theme.” He later went into the origins of his rap name. “My name comes from a pimp named Schoolboy,” he said. “Like from my block. He’s a pimp. Well, used to be a pimp. He from my hood, too. He from Hoover. But that’s part of my name. But what my real name really came from was from me having a 3.3 in high school, GPA. But I was all into all this shit. You get what I’m saying? I was still an athlete, but my mom worked nights. And when she would go to work at night, I would leave. Cause this is about [the] time we moved across the street. So, my grandma wasn’t really monitoring me like that.” While Q experienced serious addiction to prescription pills, he shared his issue with no one but Ab-Soul for some time. “I was addicted for like two years and I would never tell nobody,” he said. “Like none of my homies. I wouldn’t tell my girl. I wouldn’t [tell] my mother. Like nobody. TDE didn’t know. The only nigga that knew was Ab-Soul. He was the only nigga [that knew]. Kendrick didn’t know. I was his hype man. I was faded. It was crazy.” Listen to the full interview below.

Meek Mill Previews A New Track With DJ Mustard & Ty Dolla $ign

Meek Mill has a new track coming with DJ Mustard and Ty Dolla $ign, and he made sure to preview it via Instagram. Meek Mill is apparently working on a new album for 2014, and while he's kept things pretty under wraps in terms of new material, he made sure to preview a new song with himself, DJ Mustard, and Ty Dolla $ign on Instagram yesterday. It's unclear whether the song is in fact slated for his new album. It's even possible that it's simply a Meek feature on a Mustard or Ty$ song, but it's probably more likely that its a Meek song with Dolla $ign on the hook. Take a look at two clips of the track below. Think it'll be a hit?

ScHoolboy Q's "Oxymoron" & Kid Cudi's "Satellite Flight" First Week Sales Projections

Find out how much ScHoolboy Q's new album and Kid Cudi's new album are set to move opening week. With both ScHoolboy Q's Oxymoron and Kid Cudi's Satellite Flight out now (although the latter is only out digitally), we've received first week sales projections for each. The other week, TDE revealed that Q's pre-order numbers for Oxymoron had reached 23,000 units, as they attempted to surpass Kendrick Lamar's pre-order numbers for good kid, m.A.A.d city. We're not sure if they reached that goal, but if Q's sales projections are accurate, he won't be surpassing GKMC opening week numbers. Q's looking like he'll be moving 150,000-160,000 opening week (GKMC sold 242,000). Kid Cudi, who dropped his album by surprise, won't do too shabby either, with 90,000-95,000 projected. Are you picking up a copy of either album? Let us know.

Rick Ross Talks On The Making Of "Nobody"

Rick Ross discusses the new album "Mastermind" with Angie Martinez. Rick Ross unleashed a full album stream for his anticipated Mastermind album last night, which is Rozay's sixth studio LP. Ross has been dubbing the project, which is executive produced by Diddy, his best yet. While we'll have to give it a thorough listen to decide on that, what are your initial impressions? Rozay has been keeping the promo going for Mastermind, which officially drops next week, with a recent interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez. During their conversation, the two discuss Diddy's contribution to the album, specifically the Biggie-inspired "Nobody" which dropped the other week. The MMG Bawse detailed the process for "Nobody", as well as enlisting Diddy as an executive producer. "I was maybe 80% done with my album when I went and played it for him [Diddy]," Ross said during the interview. "I just told him, I just want it to feel like the '90s, you know, the mid-90s. And I asked him what I was missing. And you know, he told me." The rapper continued to discuss "Nobody", revealing it was initially a French Montana idea. "Me and French was in the studio, and French actually cooked up the idea. And I was like yo, even before I played it for Puff, I reached out to D-Roc, you know that's my big homie, that's Biggie right-hand man. He gave me that approval." Ross went on to reveal that Diddy's skits through out the record were from real life events-- he wouldn't reveal who exactly Puff was talking too, but he did say it was "real talk." "What I did next was, Puff talkin' that talk. That was real talk. That wasn't studio," Ross said. "Yo. Who exactly he was speaking to, I'm not gonna say his name, but this was real. This was definitely Puff in one of those zones, and the lil homie from Revolt, he captured it." Listen to the audio from the interview below. Mastermind arrives on March 4th.

Talib Kweli Reveals He's Working On Joint Album With 9th Wonder

Talib Kweli announces a forthcoming effort with producer 9th Wonder. Talib Kweli stays in the studio. The rapper released a new album, Gravitas, in December, which itself had quickly followed up Prisoner Of Conscious. Now we've got word he's got yet another project on his plate, this time a joint effort with prolific producer 9th Wonder. You may recall Kweli had an appearance on the recent Jamla Is The Squad compilation, put together by 9th Wonder & co., and now they'll be taking things to the next level with a full-length release, tentatively titled B.A.D. (Build And Destroy Gang). Talib broke the news during an interview with 106 KMEL, saying, "The idea is that you have an album like The Chronic… there hasn’t been a conscious or thematically positive album that has struck a chord like The Chronic and that’s what we are trying to create."

Nipsey Hussle Creates Custom "Crenshaw" Uniforms For Fatburger

Nipsey Hussle tries his hand at uniform design, adding the "Crenshaw" touch to the Fatburger uniforms. Nipsey Hussle's Crenshaw movement was definitely a successful one, he sold plenty of copies of his $100 album, which was also available for free download, and continued the movement with a "Crenshaw" tour. The marketing hasn't stopped there though, as Nipsey keeps his name alive in his own streets, he's redesigned uniforms for California's fast food burger chain Fatburger. The rapper spoke on the redesign with MTV News, "Fatburger being an iconic brand in L.A., our core values aligned. We had an idea to co-brand the Crenshaw collection from the Marathon Clothing with the Fatburger logo," Hussle said during the grand opening of the Fatburger on Crenshaw Blvd and Slauson Ave (this happens to be a block away from Nipsey's own Slauson Ave clothing store). Nip continued to explain how Fatburger is almost like a trademark of L.A., and he didn't want to take away from that. "The Fatburger logo, it’s like the Hollywood sign or it’s like something you come to L.A. and you think Los Angeles. We didn’t want to get in the way of that. We just wanted to represent our area and also the Crenshaw collection," the West Coast native said. "I think that we gave them a great design. Everybody inside is wearing it and it just looks dope," he added. "It gives them a little bit of a cool factor." The new shirts for Fatburger feature the iconic logo on a black t-shirt, with Nipsey's "Crenshaw" logo underneath it. Nipsey's Marathon logo appears on the left-hand sleeve of the shirt. Peep the MTV video below to check out the new uniforms sported by the Crenshaw location.

ScHoolboy Q Says He Hated "Break The Bank", Has 5 More Records With Alchemist

ScHoolboy Q speaks on his work with the Alchemist on Juan Epstein. ScHoolboy Q released his major label debut, Oxymoron today, which features some pretty crazy production credits, including work from Pharrell, Mike WiLL Made It, Tyler, The Creator and DJ Dahi. One of the most interesting collaborations however is with Alchemist on "Break The Bank". In an interview with Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds, Q elaborated on the process of recording the song, revealing that he initially couldn't stand it. "I hated ['Break The Bank'], then I slept on it," said ScHoolboy, explaining that the "la di da" melody started to annoy him. "[Then I] woke back up, turned it on. Me and Alchemist was like 'wow'. Within an hour I wrote the next two verses and the bridge." Apparently, that's not the only record that came out of their sessions. "Me and Alchemist got like 5 records that nobody ever heard... nobody probably ever will hear," he revealed. "Me and Action [Bronson] got a record on his album too." According to Q, you meet a lot of other rappers through Alch. "Mos Def, Action Bronson, Domo [Genesis] from Odd Future... Roc Marciano, Boldy James," he revealed were just a few of the people he's been introduced to in the process. "He's the reason me and Danny Brown did our first record too." Listen to the full interview below.

DMX's House Facing Foreclosure, X Says It's Ex-Wife's Fault

DMX's New York home where his wife currently lives is facing foreclosure from the bank. DMX's hard times aren't over just yet. Despite the good news that Swizz Beats is executive producing his new album, and the fact that he settled his child support debt, he's still in financial turmoil, some of which may be his estranged wife's fault. X's home in Mt. Kisco, New York is in foreclosure after the rapper stopped making his mortgage payments in 2008. DMX says that he stopped living in the house in 2005, and passed on all the financial responsibility (including mortgage payments) to his ex, Tashera. However, Tashera let things fall by the wayside, including the payments. X says that Tashera withdrew $100,000 from his bank account while he was locked up, and she didn't even put it towards the mortgage-- he says he has no idea what she did with all the money. X tells TMZ, "I told her she is living above her means, that you can't still live on the same block as Martha Stewart and Chevy Chase, you gotta downgrade, but she refuses to do so because the house is in my name. She doesn't give a fuck about my credit."

Tyga's "The Gold Album" To Be Executive Produced By Kanye West

Tyga reveals that Kanye West is the executive producer of his new album. Here's some news you may or may not have been expecting, depending how closely you follow Last Kings' Tyga. At the beginning of January, T-Raww posted a photo of himself and Kanye West in the studio, but quickly deleted it, nonetheless, the evidence remained, leaving us to wonder what exactly the two were working on. Kanye's new album or Tyga's? It's quite plausible it was the latter, as Tyga has now revealed that 'Ye is an executive producer of his forthcoming LP The Gold Album. Tyga's last album, Hotel California, somewhat missed the mark so hopefully he's back on track with Kanye's assistance. We've also seen Tyga's baby mama and Kanye's hanging out a lot, so perhaps this was a natural progression from friendship to working partners. While discussing the opening of his Last Kings flagship store with Power 106, the YMCMB rapper dropped the news about Kanye. He promised, "it’s going to be a crazy album." Watch the full interview below. Tyga and his YM family dropped "Senile" yesterday off Rise Of An Empire, although word is the track was originally intended for Tyga's album.

Robin Thicke & Paula Patton Split Up After 8-Year Marriage

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton call it quits after a marriage of eight years. Robin Thicke encountered plenty of rumors this past year, in part due to the whole Miley Cyrus twerking debacle at the VMAs as well as a hyper-sexual music video for "Blurred Lines", which led many people to ask Thicke if his wifey, Paula Patton, was okay with all the naked women surrounding her husband. Everything seemed to be all fine and dandy at the time, however, perhaps they had troubles we were not aware as the two have announced today that they're splitting up, after eight years of marriage. The r'n'b singer and Patton first met when Thicke was only 14-years old. They quickly started dating and eventually tied the knot in 2005, following which, Patton gave birth to their son Julian Fuego Thicke in 2010. Patton shared the news with People, saying, "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."

Chris Brown Lashes Out At Ex-Manager On Twitter

Chris Brown momentarily looses his cool and calls out his old manager for leaking new music off "X." Chris Brown finalized a release date for his delayed album X over the weekend, and made the announcement to the world via Twitter that the LP would arrive on May 5th. We also saw two Fan Of A Fan 2 leaks surface over the weekend, however despite these positive moves, Breezy appears to be having some frustrations with his old management team. We haven't seen the rapper spazz out on Twitter for a minute, and indeed he kept his lashing out brief with one sole tweet, that was later deleted. The tweet in questions still exists though, because the internet. In the tweet, Chris blames his old manager, Tina Davis, for leaking music off X and for not giving him his back-up hard drive. Following the deletion of this tweet, he tweeted again (which we can assume was directed at Davis), "Snakes in the grass….. Just stay positive." C Breezy was managed by Davis for 12 years before parting ways with her earlier this year. He's now under management of Def Jam VP of A&R, Bu Thiam. Random Prisoner Files Motion To Get Gucci Mane Out Of Jail

An inmate at a South Carolina prison has taken it upon himself to build a case for Gucci Mane's innocence. Gucci Mane was arrested in September for gun and marijuana possession, and has since been since spending his time at a county jail in Georgia. We've not heard any updates on when he'll see release, but one man believes he's made breakthrough in the case. Jerry Lewis Dedrick, a 51-year-old prisoner who is currently serving time at Williamsburg federal prison (NOT the same facility Gucci's been doing his bid), has filed a motion he feels will prove the rapper's innocence. TMZ got a hold of the argument, which may not be as concrete as the man claims it to be. One major fallacy comes in Dedrick's claim that gun possession is not a federal crime. The inmate is asking the court to forward his new theory to Guwop's lawyer, as he does not have the power to submit it on the ATL rapper's behalf. Unfortunately, the motion may not provide the boost Gucci's case needs, but either way, Wop needs all the help he can get right now.

Tyga Spends Over $120,000 Decorating Last Kings Flagship Store

Tyga goes all out for his flagship Last Kings store in Los Angeles. Tyga is prepared to bring his Last Kings branding and label to the next level, with the opening of his new Last Kings flagship store in L.A. T-Raww spared no expense to decorate the store, dropping more than $120,000 on it. We were at the store opening and we'll have an interview with the Young Money artist in the coming week, but for now we'll break down Tyga's expenses. The rapper chose to spend a cool $20,000 on a real Egyptian-made tomb for the Melrose location. In addition, Tyga budgeted $100,000 to paint the ceiling of the store to look like the Sistine chapel. Additional money went towards other Egyptian-made decorations, such as black and gold statues, and sand-- the sand was actually imported from Egypt. Keep in mind, this store is 10 miles away from the beach.

Ice Cube Wants His Son O'Shea To Play Him In N.W.A Biopic

Ice Cube says he wants his son to portray him in the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, explaining he's "been trying to get that pushed along." Los Angeles native Ice Cube has been in the headlines recently for numerous reasons. His forthcoming album tenth solo studio album, Everythang's Corrupt is slated to hit retail shelves in May. Cube will also have a hand in the upcoming N.W.A. biopic. Recently sitting down with The Guardian, the former N.W.A. member talked about the flick and confirmed rumors that he wants his son, O'Shea to play him in the movie. "Yes. I've been trying to get that pushed along," Ice Cube said when asked if he would like his son to portray him in the biopic, Straight Outta Compton. "Just wanna make sure that he's the best man for the job." Regarding his children and N.W.A., the rapper/producer/actor said they listened to his music at a very early age. "They discovered it. I wasn't hiding it, it was right there," Ice Cube said. "My son Darrel could recite 'Straight Outta Compton' at two years old. He loved it! You can expose your kids to anything as long as you sit there and explain it to them." Finally, Cube talked about the progression of the film and said it's still in its early stages. He also explained what exactly the film will be about besides a portrayal of the late 80s Hip Hop crew. "We're getting the script tight and we're starting to cast," Ice Cube explained. "Hopefully we'll start shooting in April. We've had a few different writers; we're still working that out. We're going for a dramatic story that encompasses Hip Hop, dope-dealing, Reaganomics, Aids, LAPD, rap feuds, FBI, PMRC, the Parental Advisory stickers on the records ... all of it." In a recent interview with MTV, Cube talked about the biopic and said the movie will describe the group as the "world's most dangerous." "We just tryin' to tell the story of the world's most dangerous group," Cube said in the interview. "We're trying to tell aspects of our lives that people don't know about, people aren't privy to." In April of last year, Ice Cube said the film would be more than just a documentary of the group. "We're taking it to the nooks and crannies, I think deeper than any other article or documentary on the group," he said. "These are the intimate conversations that helped forge N.W.A. To me, I think it's interesting to anybody who loves that era and I don't know any other movie where you can mix Gangster Rap, the F.B.I., L.A. riots, HIV, and fucking feuding with each other. This movie has everything from Darryl Gates and the battering ram." During the LA Weekly interview, Ice Cube also spoke about the then rumors that he would be casting his son to play him in the film. "That's a dream come true, but we're going to find the best actor to do the job," he said. "That's the thing about movies: You have got to find the best people to do the role. It is going to be a role that I think is right for unknowns, people who you haven't seen before. I think that's the best way to pull this off."

Master P Says He Sold 75 Million Albums On No Limit Records

The No Limit Records founder also says he is the best businessman and "hustler in the game." Master P also describes his brother's murder. In an interview with VladTV, Master P recently claimed to have sold as many as 75 million albums during his tenure with No Limit Records. When asked by an interviewer how many albums he’s sold throughout his career, P quickly replied “75 million.” When pressed, he clarified, “that’s my catalog with No Limit” before admitting that he stopped counting and is unsure of how many records were sold by the label in its entirety. Master P released his thirteenth studio album late last year in the form of The Gift on his newly branded No Limit Forever Records label. As recently as 2012, Master P's net worth was estimated at upwards of $350 million by the website Celebrity Net Worth. In 2013, HipHopDX reported that the rapper owed more than $200,000 in back taxes to the state of California. Prior to that story, P’s wife of 24 years reportedly filed for divorce in October. Master P Says He Is The Best Businessman & "Hustler In The Game" In his recent interview with VladTV, Master P also talked about the No Limit record deal that paved his path to industry success, noting that his “80-20 deal” with full control of his masters “was rare” even then. “The thing about it is, people don’t realize, I consider myself—I ain’t tryin’ to be the best lyricist—I just make music that people could feel,” he said. “But I am the best businessman, I feel I’m the best hustler in the game. So, I’m always about my business, I think that people didn’t think you could do that, but when you put your own marketing and promotion money up you can control your rights.” P added that beyond a beneficial recording contract, knowing when to release music is integral to maintaining a successful career. “What people don’t realize, when you hot man—I come from the streets, when you hot you just keep on hittin’ it, keep on milking it,” he said. “These artists nowadays, they get a hit song and that be it, they think they could chill, that’s when you gotta work more. That’s why I call myself the Michael Jordan of this whole street Hip Hop industry.” The label founder also told Vlad about using his music simultaneously as an escape and as a vehicle to share his life. “Music is like my escape from the real world, where I was able to give my life and give what I’ve seen, what I’ve been through, you know, through my music,” he said. “I think that what people brought into, it’s authentic, it’s real, they was happy to see somebody from the streets be able to make it. I lost my brother to the streets. That’s why I tell people, man, I’m like a loner, I don’t really have friends because my brother’s so-called best friend killed him. You know how it is in the streets, when you’re in that life it’s either eat or be eaten, that’s it… Losing so much, like a brother or something like that, that pain, that’s where ‘I Miss My Homies’ came from. That was about my brother, that pain came into that record.” P also described growing up in both New Orleans and California’s Bay Area as a child as the beginnings of his music career. “I grew up in New Orleans but I lived in the Bay for awhile,” he said. “I went to the Bay and lived with my Mom. You could kind of say I grew up in both places you know ‘cause I got a chance to feel the whole Bay Area life and then by me living in the Calliope Projects in New Orleans I was able to feel that life. It was just coming from one struggle to the next. The Bay was definitely where I got my hustle from, my music hustle, you know ‘cause everybody was thinking independently and putting their own CD’s out which I think really helped me with my career being who I am today.”

Wiz Khalifa Discusses "Blacc Hollywood" and Smoking Pot With Miley Cyrus

Wiz Khalifa sat down with Billboard to talk about his life and upcoming ventures, ranging from "Blacc Hollywood" to chilling and smoking with Miley. For those dying to hear from Wiz about some new stuff, he stopped by Billboard's offices in New York to talk about his upcoming ventures, including albums, massive tours, and surprising collaborations. Blacc Hollywood is nearing its completions, however Wiz points out that it's "not all the way put together" although "a good bit of it is finished." Of course, this album will feature a collaboration with Miley Cyrus, with her brand new, edgier persona left intact. Since, "everyone knows she smokes now," Wiz was free to say: "We ride Can Ams through Hollywood and we just chill. I can say we smoke a ton of pot and we just kick it." The stoner-friendly rapper also talks about his new single, "We Dem Boyz" and why he made it his choice to make the track the lead single. On the subject, he said: "I like 'We Dem Boyz' as the first single because of the energy," he says. "It reaches so many audiences other than just a rap audience. It's kind of like how 'Black and Yellow' was – a big sports song to get everybody riled. It's more of anthem." Watch the full interview below.
