Young Thug Says He's Already Recorded "A Million" Songs With Lil Wayne

Young Thug speaks on his upcoming collaborations with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. Young Thug's label situation was a complete mystery, until an in-depth Buzzfeed investigation (inspired by a Noz complaint) concluded that the rapper was trapped in an Atlantic deal he wanted no part of. A report that he'd now signed with Lyor Cohen's 300 label then further convoluted things, but one thing is for sure he's Rich Gang (Birdman's management company) 'til the end. The rapper commented on his alleged signing to 300, brushing off reports and keeping the focus on his Birdman co-sign. “We signed forever,” he said, in reference to Rich Gang. “It’s not no 300, it’s not no 100, 250–whatever you call it, it’s a lifetime warranty, you dig? It’s in and out. Blood in, blood out.” Things only got more complicated from there, as Thugger revealed that Birdman would be releasing the ATL rapper's upcoming #HiTunes album as an EP. "Bird droppin' it. I signed it to him so he's EP-in' it. So it's his album," he said. Whatever the paperwork may be, it's clear that Thug's head is with Young money, hyperbolically explaining the large number of collaborations he already has with Lil Wayne. “I recorded a million tracks with Wayne already,” he said with a smile. The Black Portland warbler also revealed that he will be on Nicki Minaj's Pink Print, and she'll be returning the favor on his record. “I’m gonna do something for my project and [Nicki's] project because we’re family and it wouldn’t be right if I just did hers, and it won’t be right if she just did mine.” Watch the full interview with MTV below.

Ariana Grande Shares "My Everything" Tracklist, Features From A$AP Ferg, The Weeknd & More

Ariana Grande has delivered the official tracklist for "My Everything". Ariana Grande released the solid debut album Yours Truly last summer, and she's about to shut shit down again this August with her follow up My Everything. While YT sported its share of rap features from the likes of Big Sean and Mac Miller, Grande has definitely upped the ante on her new record, for which she unveiled the official tracklist today. While Big Sean will return with a verse on ME (he also has uncredited vox on "Problem"), Ariana has also recruited Childish Gambino, The Weeknd, A$AP Ferg, and of course Iggy Azalea for the album. Her next single, dropping July 2nd, will feature EDM duo Zedd, which should be a testament to the variety we'll hear on the new album. Here's hoping Babyface returns on songwriting duties. Check out the full tracklist below. 1. “Intro” 2. “Problem” feat. Iggy Azalea 3. “One Last Time” 4. “Why Try” 5. “Break Free” feat. Zedd 6. “Best Mistake” feat. Big Sean 7. “Be My Baby” feat. Artwork Revealed for Wiz Khalifa's "Blacc Hollywood" Album

Wiz Khalifa's third major label album, "Blacc Hollywood," hits shelves August 19th. Though Wiz Khalifa hasn't released a studio album since 2012's O.N.I.F.C., his recent 28 Grams tape has kept 2014 saturated with his music. It won't be the only project he releases this year though, as Atlantic Records has announced that his next album, Blacc Hollywood, will hit shelves on August 19th. The album is set to include his radio smash "We Dem Boyz," as well as his recently-released collaboration with Project Pat and Juicy J, "KK," and an unnamed track with Miley Cyrus. Wiz told Rap-Up TV, “Blacc Hollywood in general is gon’ be sonically something that people kinda expect, but it’s like they want it, so it’s gonna be a good thing for me to deliver." Stay tuned for more leaks from the album. [via] [Update: Artwork Revealed] Wiz has also now shared the cover art for the album, which depicts the rapper doing what he does best-- smoking weed and being shirtless. Check out the cover in the gallery above, and look out for the album August 19th.

Game And Lil Durk Are No Longer Beefing

After confronting each other in an L.A. club over the weekend, Game and Lil Durk hopped on the phone together to sort out their beef, which is now apparently over. The beef between Lil Durk and Tyga that erupted after an incident in the studio has gone on for months, resulting in diss tracks, threats, and the insertion of Game into the beef. Having never met Durk before, it seemed strange that Game would join Tyga's side (a thought that Durk echoed in a recent interview), and now it seems he and Durk have realized that and made up. This past weekend, Durk was in Game's hometown for the BET Awards, and it seems that they ran into each other in a club on Saturday night. Though it's noisy and the rappers are barely audible, a clip of that meeting is below. Handsome Ass Nigga ✔ @thegame My Big homie "G Weed" put @lildurk_ on the phone wit me. Shit is DEAD ! We chopped it up like REAL NIGGAS & both sides respect each other. LIL DURK ✔ @lildurk_ Follow @thegame @G_weeder149 a real one homie chiraq x LA 4:02 PM - 29 Jun 2014 There's no word on whether Tyga is still feeling animosity towards Durk.

French Montana's "Mac & Cheese 4" Dropping In November, Will Feature Kanye West And will.i.am

French Montana announces a tentative November release date for "Mac & Cheese 4," and says Kanye West, will.i.am, Lil Durk and Chinx will all be on the album. This year, French Montana has seemed to focus more on mentoring younger artists like Chinx and Lil Durk than on his own music, but that's soon to change. Speaking with MTV yesterday while standing next to Durk, Montana revealed that his next album, Mac & Cheese 4, is scheduled for release in November. Though we were supposed to receive the project's DJ Mustard-produced first single over a month ago, it seems there's been a delay, as Montana told the interviewer that his sophomore album's first single would be out next month. Montana had more exciting news, revealing that he and Kanye West have been working on five songs together for the album, and that will.i.am, Durk, and Chinx all appear on the project. Watch the full interview below.

Shots Reportedly Fired Outside Hollywood Nightclub Following 2014 BET Awards

Shots were fired outside an L.A. nightclub following the 2014 BET Awards. After a successful night of performances and awards at the 2014 BET Awards, things went south just hours later, during an after party. TMZ reports this morning that shots were fired at Hollywood's celebrity-filled Supper Club. Reports say that around 2:30 AM PST a shot was fired outside the nightclub, with one witness telling TMZ the shot was aimed at Game's car. However another witness says the shot was fired into the air. No one was hit reportedly. Inside the club were rappers Game, Meek Mill, T-Pain, and Busta Rhymes. There is also some footage from the incident, which you can take a look at below. We'll update you as more details arrive on the situation.

Nicki Minaj Speaks On Ghostwriting, Near-Death Experience In BET Acceptance Speech

Nicki Minaj gets serious for BET acceptance speech. In a rare moment of sincerity from a typically animated personality, Nicki Minaj decided tackle some big topics in her acceptance speech at the BET awards last night (June 29). Winning "Best Female Rap Artist" for the fifth year in a row, the Young Money signee spoke on her near-death experience, why authenticity in hip-hop is important, and being a woman in a male-dominated industry. Read the full speech below: This is always very very emotional for me. Because this is my fifth year winning this award and I don’t take it for granted, I really don’t. I thank God that I’ve been placed in a position to do something and represent women in a culture that is so male-driven. and I want you to know this — I want you to know that I have an album The Pink Print that’s coming out before the year ends. That’s not a plug, but it’s a plug. But my point is, what I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is, that when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it. No, no, no shade...I used to sit in the studio with Wayne and I would literally take sometimes three, four days to write a verse. And he was like, 'No, you can’t be taking days to write no verse, you gotta write your verse right here in the studio.' And that’s why I love him till this day. Because he pushed me to push my pen, and I’m still one of the only emcees that’s out here spitting metaphors and making you think. And I really don’t even care if I get my credit or if I don’t. I don’t look at myself as a female rapper, because I know what I do. And I thank my fans because they… …They might cut me off. This is so big. At one time black people was getting blacked out on the TV now they own their own network. This is big. This is different… …I just wanna say that, the other day, literally I didn’t tell anyone this, I really thought I was about to die. Like I was saying my prayers to die. And I didn’t even wanna call the ambulance because I thought well if I call the ambulance, it’s gonna be on TMZ. And I would rather sit there and die…and it made me realize, I don’t care what anybody gotta say. I’ma do me, I’ma do me. And I hope and pray that BET continues to honor authenticity. And that’s all I’m gonna say about that. Stephen I love you. It is what it is. Young Money till the death of me. Fans have begun speculating that Minaj's quote "when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it," was taking aim at fellow nominee Iggy Azalea, who is known to use songwriters to help pen her hit singles. It should be noted that Minaj writes her music alongside other artists and, while her verses may be authentic, her chorus work may not be. "Pills n Potions," for example, credits Ester Dean and Dr. Luke in its liner notes--explaining the radio-ready chorus.

Pharrell & August Alsina Win Big At BET Awards

Check out the complete list of BET winners below. As usual, this year's BET Awards were full of surprises. Beyonce and Jay Z went into the 2014 BET Awards ceremony leading with four nominations, but this was Pharrell and August Alsina's night. With two wins each, the performers proved that their charting albums were no fluke. Williams won best male R&B/pop artist, along with best video for "Happy," while Alsina took home the award for best new artist and the Coca-Cola viewers' choice award. Young Money was awarded best group, with Lil Wayne and Minaj accepting the prize. Meanwhile, two of the group's members also walked away with trophies of their own. Drake beat out Jay-Z for best male hip hop star; Minaj won for best female hip hop star. In her acceptance speech, Minaj praised herself as a hip-hop star who doesn't have someone writing for her, an apparent dig at Iggy Azalea. Man Stabbed At Meek Mill's BET Awards Party

Meek Mill's BET Awards pre-party was interrupted by a fight that left a man stabbed. Just yesterday, Meek Mill was seen talking to Miss Info about his new album and hyping up his BET Awards pre-party, which he said would also be attended by Game and Lil Boosie. Taking place at L.A.'s Club Lure, the event would be marred by a fight that led to a stabbing. TMZ reports that a man in his 20s got involved in a fight inside the club before being stabbed and taken outside by his friend. The gossip site also has video footage of the man and his friend calling for help to police, but it's a little disturbing so we'll let you view it at your own risk here. The man was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital and is now in stable condition. Police are still looking for clues about the incident and no more details have been reported at this time.

Ariana Grande Announces New Album Featuring Big Sean & Iggy Azalea

Ariana Grande has announced plans for "My Everything," an album that will feature Big Sean and Iggy Azalea. Ariana Grande's currently riding high off the success of her single 'Problem" with Iggy Azalea, and yesterday she announced that the single would soon find its home on her sophomore album. The project, entitled My Everything, hits shelves on August 25th and will feature Azalea, Big Sean and EDM DJ Zedd, who's on the album's next single, "Break Free." Grande made the announcement yesterday during an interview with Ryan Seacrest, and said that the Big Sean collabo, "Best Mistake," was one of her favorites. She added,“I feel like each song is so strongly themed that I just wanted to have a very simple overall cover," speaking to the album's minimal artwork below. Watch the full interview below.

50 Cent Just Sold A TV Show To Comedy Central

On the heels of his show "Power" debuting on Starz, 50 Cent announces that he just sold another series to Comedy Central. "Go 'head and switch the style up/And if they hate, then let 'em hate and watch the money pile up" is quickly becoming less of a lyric from 50 Cent's "In Da Club" and more of a mantra that the entrepreneur lives his life by. If you take "style" to mean "profession," Fif's switched it up a lot, going from rapping to acting to advertising to, most recently, executive producing the Starz show "Power." It seems like he's taken a liking to the TV production life, as he just announced that he sold a show to Comedy Central. "I bet a HATER will get tired of hating," he wrote on Instagram. "Before I lose passion,I just sold another TV show,COMEDY CENTRAL #smsaudio #power." Stay tuned for more details on this story, and check out the original post below.

Eminem's Daughter Hailie Graduates High School With Top Honors

Eminem's daughter, Hailie Mathers, graduated high school Summa Cum Laude and is headed to Michigan State University. Some of the earliest criticisms of Eminem centered around his many references to his daughter Hailie, who was just a toddler when songs like "'97 Bonnie & Clyde" (the lyrics of which had Em taking her and her recently-murdered mother out for a drive) first dropped. If Em's original detractors were to be believed, this girl's life was in danger of being ruined, but now it seems that quite the opposite has happened. Hailie Mathers, now 18, has graduated her high school with top marks and is headed to Michigan State University. Achieving Summa Cum Laude status (an honor awarded to those with at least a 3.9 GPA), Hailie was eager to thank both of her parents, saying that they "have pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have.” She was also named homecoming queen last fall, and was a member of the Natonal Honor Society, Art Club, Key Club, volleyball team and student council.

Rick Ross Arrested In North Carolina For Missing A Court Date

After performing at SuperJam 2014 in Greensboro, NC, Rick Ross was arrested by police on charges stemming from a court date he missed. As there was no 100 person mob waiting for him outside of Greensboro Coliseum last night, Rick Ross actually showed up to perform at the venue's SuperJam 2014 concert, though his successful appearance didn't mean the night was a complete success. After the show, local authorities caught up with Rozay to take him into custody for missing a court date. As it turns out, the MMG Bawse was arrested in North Carolina in 2013 for marijuana possession, and never showed up to court for his trial. As a result, he was arrested for bailing on the date, though he posted bail and is now free again. TMZ reports that he was "cooperative" with the police.

Meek Mill Announces Collaborative Track With ASAP Ferg And Big Sean, "B-Boy"

During an interview with Miss Info in L.A. for the BET Awards weekend, Meek Mill reveals plans for a "Dreams Worth More Than Money" track with ASAP Ferg and Big Sean. Though Meek Mill has said repeatedly that his album Dreams Worth More Than Money will be dropping this summer, we still don't have many details on the album, other than its lead single, some brief previews and a clue about a Nas/Jay Z collabo. Leave it to Hot 97's Miss Info to extract some more hints from Meek, who met up with the radio host while in L.A. for the BET awards and spoke on his upcoming release. The juiciest bit of news we got from this interview was news of another DWMTM track boasting two high-profile guests. "B-Boy" will feature ASAP Ferg and Big Sean (and possibly an outro composed by Pharrell), and its video is being shot on Monday, said Meek. "There ain't even no hook on it," he said. "And it's Ferg sounding like you never heard Ferg sound. Every time people hear it they're like, 'Who is this right here?'" With Info asking why we haven't seen more promo for DWMTM in the months before it drops, Meek said he didn't want to deal with an orthodox, months-long rollout strategy for this one, revealing that he's "just gonna promo it for a month and then come wit it." Meek seemed hesitant to leak more info, but said the biggest change from his last release is his shift of focus from making money to feed his family to being an artist first and foremost. Watch both parts of the interview below, but beware, the audio is patchy and only works in the right speaker.

B.o.B Announces "No Genre 2" Mixtape & Release Date

B.o.B. announces the sequel to his 2010 mixtape "No Genre" is on the way. B.o.B.'s Underground Luxury had some pretty big singles in "Ready" and "Headband", but it didn't make the noise as a full project as it maybe should have. Ever since its release back in December, B.o.B has remained relatively quiet, and that’s not because of its low record sales, but because he was busy working on a new project. Taking to Twitter Friday night, B.o.B announced the release of his new mixtape No Genre 2, which is the follow up to his 2010 mixtape No Genre. While no other information was revealed about the upcoming sequel, we did recently hear two new tracks from Bobby Ray titled “Get It”, and “High As Hell”, which featured Wiz Khalifa. There's no confirmation that those two will live on the project, but we're thinkin' so. Don’t be surprised to see a new track come out in the very near future. R. Kelly Responds To Claims That He "Refuses To Accept" His Transgender Child

With various online sources reporting that R. Kelly has not been accepting of his child's recent decision to come out as transgender, Kellz addresses the controversy in a new interview. Earlier this month, R. Kelly's 13-year-old daughter Jaya announced via social media that she was transgender, saying that she would now like to be called "Jay" and that she was "eager to undergo gender reassignment surgery." Since then, Kellz has not spoken about the matter in public, and his ex-wife (Jay's mother) recently told TMZ that he "refuses to accept his daughter is now his son." In a new interview with radio station WCGI, R. Kelly was asked about Jay, and though he took the time to answer the question, his response didn't really include his opinion on Jay's recent announcement. Quoth Kellz: “You don’t really want to open it up by saying my daughter is becoming my son. You gotta know there’s a back story. There’s a background. That’s why you can’t judge nobody.” The hosts then asked him about "blogs" that say he's been neglecting Jay, to which he responded: “Don’t even give the blogs that kind of credit. You know what I’m saying? Real talk. As far as that is concerned, always believe what you see with your own eyes that is. Always believe what you see. That is the best way to go about this business... I’ve heard a lot of things about a lot of people and it was never true.” He later said he has "Three lovely, lovely kids that I'm in love with and that's in love with me," but said he just doesn't like "addressing dumb [bleep]" in public. 50 Cent Shares Further Details On G-Unit Mixtape & Album

50 Cent reveals his plans for the upcoming G-Unit mixtape and album. G-Unit only reunited at the beginning of the month, but they already have a number of new tracks under their belt. While 50 initially announced plans for an album from the group, speculation arose in light of the freestyles that a mixtape may too be in the works. Fif confirmed this rumor last week, and in a new interview with MTV has shared a few more details concerning the projects.. "We just getting back to how we did it in the very beginning," said 50 of the mixtape plans. "We going to start over and work like we need a record deal. We just continue to put music out. While we’re putting that music out, we’re making the coolest original content and letting that be there for the actual album. But, there will be a full tape that comes out before that." The rapper then explained that each member has written plenty of verses in the time since the group was together, with some members reaching back to unused ideas on new material. "Creatively everyone kind of keeps up with each other," he said. "They don’t want to be left behind [so] they’ll give you something that they had if they don’t actually come up with it on the spot right there. It’s so much content. They’ve written a lot of music away from me. So I don’t know what portions of what they coming up with is what they JUST came up with or something that they had an idea and been working with for a while. But it’s all up to standards." As far as the album is concerned, 50 says that the direction will be determined when they find a particular record to go off. "The formula we used to make albums in the past. I'd come up with one joint that kind of felt like-- this is what the record should be like. Then we sequenced the rest of the records following that record." Watch the interview below.

Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) & Talib Kweli Reunite At Dave Chappelle's Show In New York

A Black Star reunion took place at Dave Chapelle's final Radio City Music Hall show last night. Much like his iconic sketch comedy series, Chappelle's Show, music has played a big role in Dave Chappelle's recent string of shows at Radio City Music Hall. Among the many performers were Busta Rhymes, Spliff Starr (!!!), Janelle Monae, Nas The Roots, and Kanye West (who performed a surprise set). Dave definitely saved one of the biggest surprises for last however, as the Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey (fromerly Mos Def) reunited on stage as Black Star last night. The duo, who have previously delivered memorable performance on Chappelle's show, went through some of their classic material, such as “Definition,” “Redefinition” and “History”, from their one and only album. Bey later performed the Black On Both Sides highlight, “Umi Says” as well as a cover of Biggie’s “Juicy.” Kweli then brought out another blast from the past, bringing DJ Hi-Tek onstage for Reflektion Eternal favorite,“The Blast.” Outside of the performance inducing a nostalgia trip, it also officially disproved rumors that Yasiin Bey was banned from the U.S., which is good news to say the least. Check out some footage from the reunion below.

T-Boz Responds To Rihanna's Twitter Shots

T-Boz of TLC says she doesn't do Twitter beefs when it comes to Rihanna's recent jabs at the group. A month ago, veteran pop group TLC made some remarks about pop stars these days wearing little to no clothing, with a subtle shot at the main culprit, Rihanna. Rih Rih, ever the outspoken individual, took to Twitter to throw the TLC girls under the bus and expose them as hypocrites. She even went so far as to make her header an image of the TLC groupmates topless, to help prove her point. "Every time I see you you don’t have to be naked," T-Boz said initially. "It’s hard for us to say anything because any time we do, they say, 'Oh TLC must be jealous’, but I call a spade a spade." Although TLC didn't respond to Rihanna's Twitter jabs, T-Boz has now spoken out and said she just doesn't do Twitter beefs. "There was just her exchange. I don’t do Twitter beefs. I’m a grown ass woman. Okay? You want to holla, you know where to find me. It ain’t hard. It ain’t hard AT ALL and you know what I mean," she said for the TMZ cameras.

Khloe Kardashian and her clan celebrated Khloe's 30th birthday out in the Bronx, at the restaurant Don Coqui. In addition to family, French Montana's Bad Boy boss Puff Daddy made an appearance at the festivities. On top of the celebrations, Daily Mail reports that French bought Khloe an white Wrangler Sahara Jeep for her birthday, a jeep which was waiting for in the parking lot near the restaurant. The jeep goes for approximately $30,000, so obviously French spared no expensive.

15 Year Old Rapper Signs Deal With Warner That Could Earn Him $1.5 Million

Child rapper Chris Miles, who became famous for his America's Got Talent audition video, has inked a deal with Warner/Chappell that could net him as much as $1.5 Million. Chris Miles is a 15 year old rapper with over 12,000 followers on both Twitter and Facebook, and now a potentially multi-million dollar record contract. Miles rose to prominence after his audition tape for America's Got Talent went viral around two years ago (when he was 13), and has continued to be successful with his YouTube videos ever since. TMZ reports that Miles' deal with Warner/Chappell includes a $182,500 advance for the first of up to five albums that he will release. If everything goes as planned, and Miles' albums perform well commercially, his deal could net him up to $1.5 Million plus royalties after five albums. BET Contemplates A Chris Brown Reality Show

Will Chris Brown get his own post-prison reality series? If you can't get enough of Chris Brown's law-breaking antics, you're in luck. According to a report by TMZ, BET is currently in the process of developing a reality TV series for the R&B star. While nothing has been set in motion yet as far as production is concerned, sources have confirmed that the network has already began running focus groups to find out if the concept attracts viewers. Multiple sources tell TMZ that BET has made it clear to several production companies that the network would absolutely air a Chris Brown reality series chronicling his life after jail, but so far no one has been confirmed to sign Chris. A focus group was held Tuesday in the San Fernando Valley. Participants were asked if they'd watch a reality show in which Chris tries to stay clean, free from violence and drugs. The group--comprised entirely of African American females--was split, but the majority said they'd watch to see if Chris would screw up. Would you watch a Chris Brown reality series? If not, what artist would you prefer to have their own show?

Busta Rhymes & Eminem's "Calm Down" Record Dropping Next Week

Busta Rhymes will be dropping his Eminem-featured single, "Calm Down", next Tuesday. At the beginning of the year, producer Scoop Deville sat down with Vlad TV and revealed that he had produced a monster collaboration between Busta Rhymes & Eminem. After months of anticipation, it appears that the record, "Calm Down", will finally be arriving next Tuesday, July 1st. "That's the next record that's going to, I'd say, destroy the streets of New York and hip-hop in a lot of ways," Scoop said. "That record is something that we've been putting together for a minute. It's not just like an overnight thing. We've been trying to make this THE record to bring back Busta in a major way." Earlier in the year, Busta also commented on the record and just like Scoop, described it as a 6-minute lyrical onslaught that mimics a rap battle the way each rapper attacks the mic. Busta stated: "I've got a six-minute record with Eminem that sounds like we are respectfully trying to battle each other in a way that you probably never heard us battle in our entire careers on a record," he said. "So it's lot of real incredibly golden moments for us on this project." Sounds good to us. The track will be the newest single off Busta’s upcoming album Extinction Level Event 2, which will serve as the sequel to Busta's 1998 classic Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front. The album will include tracks like "Twerk It" with Nicki Minaj as well as "Thank You", which features Lil Wayne,Kanye West and Q-Tip. It's rumoured to be dropping in November. Check out Busta’s tweet from tonight that verifies the release date below. Who’s excited to finally hear this record?

Ja Rule Claims He Beat 50 Cent With A Bat In 2000

Ja Rule recalls two occasions where he claims that he beat 50 cent with various objects, including a bat, a speaker, and a crutch. Ja Rule will release his new book, Unruly: The Highs and Lows of Being a Man next week, and it may just bring an old beef back from the dead. The book details much of the highly-publicized feud between Ja Rule and 50 Cent, but most notably, gives us a look behind the scenes. Two interesting excerpts of the novel, acquired by New York Daily News, describe physical altercations between Ja and 50, both of which involve the former hit the latter with various blunt objects. “50 tried to swing on me, but I dipped, then I hit him with the baby Louisville Slugger,” Ja writes of a 2000 incident in Atlanta that began as a peace summit. “Bam! I dropped the bat. I pulled the shirt over his head. I started catching him left, right, uppercut.” Later that year, 50 was stabbed at the New York Hit Factory studio, an event in which Ja goes into further detail. “I hit him with the crutch,” writes Ja, a weapon which he allegedly acquired from a crew member with a broken foot. “We proceeded to whip his ass. I was putting in my work. 50 was crunched in the corner. I slammed the big Tannoy speaker down on him.” So far, 50 has not reacted to the claims, but you can be sure it's only a matter of time.

Trick Trick Addresses Alleged Rick Ross Confrontation In Detroit

Trick Trick insists that the opposition Rick Ross' performance was non-violent, but argues that the issue is between him and the MMG boss. A few days ago, news broke that Rick Ross had been turned away from a show in Detroit, indicating that he was barred from entry to a venue by local rapper Trick Trick and his crew. Trick is known for bring a "No Fly Zone" policy to Detroit, in which artists who did not collaborate with the city's artists, or support its scene, are not allowed to perform within its borders. Stories of the incident differ. The initial report said that Ross was greeted by 100 people barring him from entry, and that he was "in fear of his life". Ross attested that he never even made it to the venue, and that the gates to the site were padlocked, but otherwise there was no strong-arming going on. A new interview with Trick Trick sees him echoing Ross' sentiments that the protest was non-violent, though he stressed that the issue was between him and Rozay (but never actually used the rapper's name). "All I did was teach brothers how to stand for something, and stand for it without being violent," said Trick in a lengthy video statement. "What the fuck is the problem with that? Didn't nobody get arrested, wasn't no bloodshed, nothing happened wrong, other than some people getting disappointed in not seeing who they wanted to see. For that, ladies and gentleman, I apologize. But me and that man's business, is me and that man's business." The rapper later shifted to the problems he sees in Detroit every day, the reason he created this movement. "You're so concerned what you thought was negative, and what you thought was ignorant, and what you thought was bullying, and what you thought was extortion," he said of the coverage of the Ross incident. "You're so concerned with that. Ain't nobody concerned that hours before that up the street a child was killed. We ain't talking about that or finding that motherfucker who did that." Iggy Azalea To Re-Release "The New Classic" With New Records

Iggy Azalea is planning to drop a new version of her debut album "The New Classic." Iggy Azalea's debut album may have just dropped in April, but she's already planning a re-release for the Fall. For whatever reason, Iggy announced that she'll be dropping another version of The New Classic with some additional records. The album has been charting reasonably well since its release, debuting at no. 3 on the Billboard 200 when it dropped, and soon overtaking Future's initial lead on her with his album Honest. The blonde-haired MC also kept the no. 1 spot on the Hot 100 locked for four weeks with her single "Fancy" (and the song has since gone platinum). The Australian rapper announced the news of the impending re-release on Capital XTRA, revealing she's planning to drop it around September 17th. Fan can expect five to six new joints, according to Capital XTRA. Do you think it's too soon for Ms. Azalea to be re-releasing The New Classic, or are you planning to pick up a (second?) copy? Daylyt Signs To Shady Records

Eminem finds a new signee. Daylyt has seemingly appeared at the top of the game from out of nowhere. After making his television debut last week on the Shady Films reality series "Road to Total Slaughter," the battle rapper turned heads on Ab-Soul’s These Days… with an extended verse hidden on the album's closing track. The hype surrounding the rapper, meanwhile, keeps on coming in. Releasing a video yesterday (June 24), Daylyt announced that the Ab-Soul battle footage would be released and shared plans to battle another "big" TDE member this summer among other big plans. "I got a show coming up called Welcome To Daylyt’s World, which will be going down on Adult Swim," he says. "I got a lot of stuff in the works right now and Battle Rap is the last thing I’m worried about right now. Also, big shouts out to Ab-Soul. Ya’ll can go check out that These Days… album today. On the last track, Daylyt versus Ab-Soul, the footage will be coming out soon. So, be on the look-out for that. “I’ve made it to the level where I’m clearly outside of Battle Rap,” he says later. “I battled Ab-Soul. I got another TDE member coming up in August, which is a big TDE member. This is gonna be a big event for the West Coast. I’m done with battling these regular cats. It’s over with for me. I don’t really care for that type of stuff. My album is in the process, Look Into My Head. Everything is in the works.” Perhaps the biggest piece of information to come from the video, however, is saved for the closing remarks. “Big shouts out to Eminem for making that legit,” the emcee says. “Daylyt is an official member of Shady Records."

Rick Ross Named Brand Ambassador Of mCig Electronic Cigarettes

Rick Ross has announced a partnership with mCig, with plans to release his own "Mastermind"-branded smoking device in the future. Rick Ross may have lost his Reebok sponsorship last year, but he hasn't had any trouble picking up new deals. The MMG bawse has now landed an unlikely partnership with mCig electronic cigarettes. Rozay will serve as the brand ambassador for the company's mCig and VitaCig lines, and will eventually introduce his own branded device, "Mastermind" in 2015. The rapper released a statement detailing his role in the brand today. At this stage in my life, I’ve worked hard and make it a practice to only enjoy the finer things in life. From dining at my favorite Wingstop, listening to "Mastermind", now available in stores, to sipping Belaire Rose while traveling the world; I take pride in dealing with only the best, which is why the mCig collaboration makes the most sense for me and my brand. I’ve been using the mCig for several months and most definitely enjoy the smoking experience. Thanks to my Crossfit workout regimen, I’m also the healthiest I’ve ever been and none of that is compromised by using the mCig. The mCig gives me the cleanest experience possible, and as an avid smoker, that’s what I depend on. It’s sleek, small and affordable, making it accessible to all of my fans. I’m excited to be teaming up with Paul, DJ Swivel and the rest of the mCig team, and even more excited to be designing and launching my own mCig over the next few months. The mCig brand is targeting both Cigarette smokers and-- in lieu of recent developments regarding marijuana legalization --weed smokers as well. It's not clear which crowd Rick Ross will be primarily catering to, but as an endorser of both cigars and kush, it could easily be both.

Chris Brown's Plea Deal In Assault Case Falls Apart

Chris Brown's plea deal in his Washington, DC assault case has fallen apart, so the singer is heading to trial in September. It's hard to keep track of Chris Brown's constant legal battles, however we do our best. The singer was released from jail at the beginning of June, and quickly returned to the studio to work on new music. However he may not be a free man for much longer, if his lawyer can't work out a plea deal stemming from last October's misdemeanor assault charges. AP reports that Breezy was very close to working out a plea deal in the assault case, which would make it so that Brown could avoid jail time. However, the deal has fallen apart due to the opposing sides not coming to an agreement on what exactly Brown would acknowledge happened last year. Prosecutor Kevin Chambers said they offered Brown a deal to plead guilty to simple assault and time served in the Washington, DC case. However Brown's lawyer (who is almost as famous as Brown at this point) Mark Geragos said both sides couldn't agree "on a statement of facts about what happened outside the W hotel." "They wanted him to read from a script that wasn't true," Geragos said after a hearing on Tuesday. Brown's trial has been set for September 8th. Updates to follow.

Frank Ocean Has Reportedly Fired His Publicist & Management

Frank Ocean has parted ways with both his publicist and management leading up to his sophomore album. Frank Ocean's sophomore album is reportedly slated for a late 2014 release, and the singer has decided to switch up his management and publicist leading up to the album's rollout. According to Buzzfeed, Ocean has parted ways with Christian and Kelly Clancy, who currently manage Odd Future, and their hardcore stepbrothers Trash Talk. The Channel Orange singer has been with the couple since 2010, but has now moved to a new, still unnamed management team. Frank also shared a publicist with Odd Future, known as Life or Death PR, but has now decided to move to a Hollywood-based agency called ID PR. ID hosts a variety of big-name clients, including Alicia Keys, Paul Simon, Jennifer Lawrence and Sean Penn. No word on why the singer chose to switch up his representation so drastically and suddenly, but if nothing else, it suggests that the album is around the corner. According to acclaimed music director Nabil, who's been working closely with Frank recently, the album is shaping up to be something special. “He’s making a great record. It blows the sophomore-album myth out of the water,” he says.

Kendrick Lamar: "Everyone In The Industry Has Lost Their Edge"

Kendrick Lamar talks Grammys, temptation, and maintaining one's edge in an in-depth interview with the New York Times. Despite not releasing an album in 2013, Kendrick Lamar managed to keep his name on the tip of everyone's tongue. Whether through his unavoidable "Control" verse, his opening slot on Kanye West's Yeezus tour, or his much-talked about snub at the Grammys, K.Dot kept his profile up throughout the year. The true test now lies with his follow-up to GKMC, which is said to be dropping this year. In a new profile by The New York times, Kendrick explained his desire to remain edgy in an increasingly conservative industry, the temptation that comes with fame, and his inability to take good news well. Read some excerpts from the interview below. On how his stutter inspired his music: As a kid, I used to stutter. I think that’s why I put my energy into making music. That’s how I get my thoughts out, instead of being crazy all the time. On the lack of 'edge' in the industry: If my edge is dull, my sword is dull, and I don’t want to fight another guy whose sword is dull. If you’ve got two steel swords going back and forth hitting each other, what’s gonna happen? Both of them are going to get sharper. Everybody that’s in the industry has lost their edge. There’s really no aggression. You gotta say things particular, and everything is so soft. On being asked to do the Yeezus tour: It’s a different kind of thrill when an actual artist asks you, when Kanye asks you. Now I know he’s really interested in what I do. On his parents: They came to L.A. on some... Some high hopes. They had like $500. They landed in Compton out of every place in L.A.; I don’t know how. They could have landed in the suburbs or the valley, but they didn’t. My pop did what he had to do. We had good birthdays and good Christmases. I can’t complain. On experiences with gangs: I started thinking crazy, and the homies got in my head. It’s the sense of being wanted or being needed. Being in the gang, it’s a certain type of love that you feel at the moment. On the relativity of temptation: At 16, temptation can be money: I know money, I want money. Or women: I know women, I want women. Or drugs: I know drugs, I want drugs. Temptation is just the feeling that you’re the most independent person on planet Earth. That you know everything. That’s something that we all go through as a kid. Now, this lifestyle that I’m in, the same thing exists! But it’s 10 times worse, because everything is at my disposal. When you’re in the limelight, you can get anything you want. On being remembered: Whenever I get good news about anything... man, I guess I’m bad at receiving compliments. Like yesterday with the nominations, things like that — it made me feel like I had to be in the studio because I had to do it, not again, but... It just bothers me. I don’t want to be something that just comes and goes.

Troy Ave Comments On Game's XXL Freshman Class Diss

Troy Ave speaks on the critique Game made of the 2014 XXL Freshman class on his new single "Bigger Than Me". Like his former collaborator 50 Cent, Game comes from a time in rap where calling rappers out was commonplace. On his most recent single, "Bigger Than Me", the Compton rapper takes aim at the entire Freshman class, accusing them of being "soft", and not of the same caliber as emcees he came up with. "Old lost ass niggas/ Voice crack when you talk ass niggas / Rollin' blunts for the boss ass niggas / I came in with 'Ye, Jeezy and boss ass niggas / Your Freshman cover a whole bunch of soft ass niggas / Tampon lyricists, evacuate the premises / Mute BET Cyphers, 'cause I don't wanna hear that shit," Game raps on the track. Troy Ave, a rapper who-- despite being part of the Freshman Class --has a very similar outlook to Game (see his comments regarding "weirdos" like fellow cover star, Chance The Rapper), has spoken out on Game's critique, though he had admittedly not yet heard the verse. "It was really hearsay, what I heard," said Troy in an interview with DJ Absolut. "It was something to the effect of the class is soft and they’re not Weezy. He came in with Young Jeezy and all types of stuff like that. It sounds like shenanigans to me." The New York rapper later acknowledged that he couldn't respond directly to the claims without hearing the verse. "I ain't really heard it so I cant even speak on it fully until I hear the record and see what he talking ’bout," he said. "It aint affecting nothing that I’m doing over here for this New York City and this East Coast environment that I got on fire." Listen to the full interview below.

Lyor Cohen's 300 Label Announces Partnership With Migos & Johnny Cinco

300 label are partnering to release music with Quality Control's Migos and Johnny Cinco. The other week we learned of Young Thug's connection to the newly-launched 300 label. Kevin Liles, one of the label's executives, revealed that they have some sort of deal with Thugga although the exact details remain unclear. Liles also promised other exciting ventures in the pipeline, and lo and behold, today a press release has arrived announcing a partnership between 300 and two artists on the Quality Control label. The details of the partnership aren't fully revealed, however it was in effect for the commercial release of Migos' No Label II on June 3. The press release states, "300 Entertainment is thrilled to unveil our partnership with Quality Control Music for artists Migos and Johnny Cinco." We were introduced to the many artists on the QC label with their Solid Foundation mixtape, but it's become obvious that QC is focused on pushing both Migos and Johnny Cinco at the present time, so the deal with 300 makes sense. Todd Moscowitz, one of the 300 founders, spoke on the new deal. "We believe in the entire Quality Control movement, they are the next southern powerhouse," he said. "Migos are among the most talented new artists in music today. We’re incredibly excited to be working not only with Migos and Johnny Cinco but also with Pierre and his team." Pierre “Pee” Thomas, the founder of the QC label, also shared some words on the partnership. "We’ve built QC from the bottom up and really grinded to get to the point we're at. With the experience of Lyor, Todd and Kevin, the partnership with 300 is the best fit for us to take this to the next level."

Jhené Aiko Covers VIBE

Jhené Aiko is featured on the cover of the latest issue of VIBE. Jhené Aiko is almost indisputably one of the fastest rising stars in 2014, thanks to her talented vocals, smooth, effortless vibe and gorgeous looks. She's already gotten big looks from Complex and GQ this year, and now VIBE magazine is the latest to feature her on the cover, and in an article entitled "Sweetest Taboo." The article focuses on Aiko's much-discussed "hippy" style, which leads her to say things like “I don’t think anything about me is loud. I’m not going to walk into a room with crazy accessories, high heels and red lipstick. I blend in.” She also speaks on her song “Comfort Inn Ending (Freestyle),” saying: “I’ve never killed a guy, and I’ve never went to jail, but those are the things I have to get out of my head some way. It’s writing a song and then turning my crazy thoughts into those moments where I’m like, I could really do that, but I’m not going to.”
