Big Sean Speaks on New Album Sound & Ariana Grande Rumors

Big Sean says that he's in "beast mode" on his new album, and that it will be "darker in tone." He also addresses Ariana Grande rumors. Big Sean got us excited when he dropped four new records in one day, and killed each one in a different way, from the dark "Paradise" to the break-up anthem "I Don't Fuck With You" to the more laid-back "Jit/Juke." The rapper has since done a few interviews, and in this most recent one, he discusses the direction of his new album. While these four drops, which happened on Friday, led some to believe that perhaps the fan-favorite G.O.O.D. Fridays may make a return, Big Sean can neither confirm or deny said rumors. "We've been collectively working, but that's all I can really say though," he said, then adding that he'd been in the studio with Kanye, Pusha T and CyHi The Prynce. If we couldn't already tell by the four tracks, Sean Don is currently going hard, and so he says he is spitting nothing but high-quality raps on the new LP. "Man, I'm just in straight beast mode. I'm not angry, but I'm passionate. High-level raps," Big Sean told Power 106KMEL. "I'm just going in to the best of my ability on every single beat, not lagging, not cutting anything short, giving it 110%." When asked if the new album would be more street-oriented, Sean replied, "not necessarily street, but it's gunna be darker in tone. Not necessarily angry but more intense, man. I don't wanna say angry 'cause I'm honestly the happiest I've ever been." He added, "Vented heavy, everyone knows I've been going through some craziness," perhaps referring to his Naya Rivera break-up, and/or Ariana Grande rumors. Speaking of Ariana rumors, Big Sean once again addresses them in a separate interview with Ryan Seacrest. He sort of dodges the question, although he doesn't really do much to quell the rumors. "I like to keep my personal life personal," he said. "But I am gonna tell you this: that Ariana is very, very special. She’s very special to me. Everything she has going on is good with her, everything I have going on is good with me, everything between me and her is good, and I’m just going to leave it at that."
