Justin Bieber's Next Album will have production from Kanye West and Rick Rubin

Justin Bieber's next album will feature production from Kanye West and Rick Rubin. Justin Bieber recently got roasted last night by Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Kevin Hart, and even Martha Stewart. Judging from a recent interview with USA Today, though, the 21-year-old from London, Ontario, might be having the last laugh. Biebs talked about the ups, such as his exclusive Ferrari, and downs, such as having cameras in your face since age 13, of his massive celebrity, but he also shared some revelatory information regarding his new music. On his new album, Bieber is working with two of the biggest producers in the game: Kanye West and Def Jam founder Rick Rubin. Both Kanye and Rick are atop the world of pop music; 'Ye's expressed his desire to work with Taylor Swift, and Rubin has recently produced for pop stars like Ed Sheeran and Lady Gaga. The Biebs hasn't had put out an album since 2012, though with production creds like this, we expect his upcoming work will be his most ambitious yet. Would y'all listen to a Yeezy-produced Bieber track?

Jay Z Wants TIDAL To "Extend The Album Cycle" & Restore "Fair Trade" In Music

Jay Z shares some insight into the goals of his new streaming service, TIDAL. There was no way the announcement of TIDAL was going to go down without a surprise, but while plenty of people thought they had it figured out (an album drop from Rihanna or Kanye West), no one predicted the actual unveiling -- the huge cast of musicians who co-own the service. Despite sharing ownership with Kanye West, Rihanna, Madonna, and many more, Jay Z's name has been attached to the service for the last few weeks, and it was Hov who gave the first interview on the goals of the company with Billboard today. Jay revealed in the sit-down that he's attempting to make sure that everyone involved in music (those behind the scenes moreso than the artists) gets their fair share, as well as his goal to maintain a consistent output from artists that isn't limited to an album cycle. Check out some excerpts from Jay's #NewRules below. Read the full interview here. On restoring "fair trade" in music: Definitely. For someone like me, I can go on tour. But what about the people working on the record, the content creators and not just the artists? If they’re not being compensated properly, then I think we’ll lose some writers and producers and people like that who depend on fair trade. Some would probably have to take another job, and I think we’ll lose some great writers in the process. Is it fair? No. If you put in work, everyone else, you go to work you get paid. That’s fair trade. It’s what our country is built on. On what he wants out of TIDAL: Artists come here and start making songs 18 minutes long, or whatever. I know this is going to sound crazy, but maybe they start attempting to make a “Like a Rolling Stone,” you know, a song that doesn't have a recognizable hook, but is still considered one of the greatest songs of all time, the freedom that this platform will allow art to flourish here. And we’re encouraging people to put it in any format they like. It doesn't have to be three minutes and 30 seconds. What if it’s a minute and 17, what if it’s 11; you know, just break format. What if it’s just four minutes of just music and then you start rapping? On whether it will offer exclusives from artists: Well, it’s up to the artist. You know, there’s a thing now, it’s called the album cycle. You put your single out, promote it, then another single -- I think that now for an artist an album cycle doesn’t have to end. They’re on Instagram and Twitter and all these things, so we’re just talking about ways of extending that album cycle, and it could be anything. What if it’s a video offering tickets to the next concert, or what if it’s audio or video of the recording process? It could be anything. It could be them at home listening to songs that inspire them. Anything they want to offer, you know; just be as creative as possible, that’s the only charge, really. Make it look really good and make everyone that consumes it think, “Man, I got something really great.” Treat the people with respect; make it memorable.

Kevin Gates Offers Opinion On Obama: "Get this Nigga Out of Office"

Kevin Gates takes to Instagram to air grievances in regards to President Obama. What do Phil Robertson, Sean Hannity, and Kevin Gates have in common? A hearty dislike for President Obama. Gates took to Instagram on Friday to air his grievances, as is his custom, and this time he had some choice words for our Commander-in-Chief. He appeared to be driving a moving vehicle as he delivered to the camera the following statement: “Niggas so stupid, talking ’bout a change gon’ come. [Since] Obama been in office I done buried more of my niggas and more family than I ever did in my life. All he did was fuck a nigga money up since he been in office. Please get this nigga out of office." [via AllHipHop]

Rich Homie Quan's Alleged Speedboat Getaway Is Untrue

Rich Homie Quan's getaway after punching a security guard in Miami isn't as epic as we first thought. Earlier this week, it was reported that Rich Homie Quan assaulted a security guard in South Beach, Miami before fleeing the scene James Bond-style on a speedboat. Well, it turns out the second part of that story might not be true. Indeed, Rich Homie did punch a security guard--at least that's what the security guard, Christian Cajigas, is saying in a forthcoming lawsuit (with pics at his defense). The alleged speedboat getaway, though, is less likely. TMZ now reports that RHQ did, in fact, leave Club LIV for a boat--but a boat he ended up staying, and partying, on for at least an hour. In the above gallery, you can see a photo taken by a woman (supposedly) on the same boat, enjoying a peck on the cheek from the fugitive himself. While we're disappointed Quan's getaway was less cinematic than we thought, at least he made it through the night scot-free. We'll keep you updated as details from Cajigas' lawsuit against Rich Homie continue to emerge.

O.T. Genasis Arrested In L.A.

The "CoCo" rapper was taken to an L.A. police station after running a red light. O.T. Genasis was arrested earlier this week (March 25), though not for what you might think. The "CoCo" rapper (and lover) was stopped in L.A. after running a red light, and after the cops ran his license, they found two arrest warrants stemming from two prior traffic violations. Genasis was taken to a nearby police station, where he was released soon after on his own money. Though his driving may be suspect, Genasis is still living large off the success of "CoCo". We hope to hear a full project from the Long Beach rapper in 2015. Watch O.T. Genasis' XXL Freshmen pitch below.

New Tupac Music Is On The Way

There is a wealth of unreleased Tupac material waiting to be heard by the public. We recently heard Tupac make an appearance on "Mortal Man", the last track off Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly. The recording was taken from a 1994 interview, but it was still chilling to hear Shakur's voice almost 20 years after his death. Now, according to Billboard, we could be hearing brand new Tupac music in the near future. JAM Inc., Shakur's mother, and Tom Whalley, who signed Tupac to Interscope in 1991, are currently working together to manage Tupac's estate, which, apparently, contains a wealth of unreleased music. In fact, when Kendrick wanted to put the Tupac interview on To Pimp a Butterfly, he approached Whalley, who was 100 percent supportive of the idea. Some of the new music "is in bits and pieces, some of it is complete; some of it is good, some of it needs work," says Whalley, "But I think the work that is left can be completed, and is worth his fans hearing." Aside from unreleased music, Tupac's estate also includes: "remixes, original demos, writings, scripts, plans, video treatments, poems." JAM president Jeff Jampol also says we can expect a forthcoming biography from "a very serious writer." It's also possible we haven't heard the last conversation between Kendrick and 'Pac, as Whalley says he's considering consulting Kendrick about ideas for Shakur's unreleased material: "At some point in time, Kendrick would be brilliant to work with Tupac's [material]. He's one of the new great poets." How do you think unheard Tupac music should be released? Do you trust his legacy in the hands of the music industry?

Big Sean Has A BAPE Collaboration Dropping Next Month

Big Sean has a forthcoming collaboration with the Japanese clothing brand BAPE. Big Sean is currently in Japan for two tour dates in support of his latest album Dark Sky Paradise. Sean will perform in Tokyo tonight and tomorrow night, though it appears he's been making some business moves during his trip as well. Sean Don just announced an upcoming collaboration with the Japanese clothing brand BAPE, or A Bathing Ape, which he says will drop next month. Sean announced the news earlier today, sharing two photos of himself on Instagram, both of which show the Detroit rapper decked out in threads from his upcoming line with BAPE. After these sneak peeks, who's gonna be copping the new Big Sean x BAPE apparel? After performing his second show in Tokyo tomorrow night, Sean is back in the States touring for the month of May. Check dates here.

Six Kendrick Lamar Songs Make Billboard's Hot 100

A total of six songs off Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp a Butterfly" crack the Billboard 100. Kendrick Lamar's latest album To Pimp a Butterfly has officially debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, giving K-Dot his first #1 album. Many of the album's tracks found their way onto the Billboard Hot 100 songs, as well. For the week of April 4, Kendrick had a total of six TPAB tracks on the 100 chart, including: "King Kunta", "The Blacker the Berry", "Alright", "Wesley's Theory", "These Walls", and "Institutionalized". Though Kendrick got six in the top 100, none of the aforementioned tracks cracked the top 50. Placing at #61, "King Kunta" was the highest performing song of the bunch, followed by "The Blacker the Berry" at #66. "Alright" hit #83, and "Wesley's Theory", "These Walls", and "Institutionalized" placed #91, #94, and #99, respectively. To Pimp a Butterfly's lead single, "i", was released last September, and, though no longer on the charts, still remains the album's highest charting track, peaking at #39. Which is your favorite of the charting TPAB songs? Purchase To Pimp a Butterfly on iTunes, and let us know your favorite tracks.

Kendrick Lamar Will Never Release The Song from his Colbert Performance

The song Kendrick Lamar performed on the Colbert Report in September was written specifically for the show, Terrace Martin explains. Back in December, when we knew very little about Kendrick Lamar's follow-up to good kid, m.A.A.d city, his performance on the series finale of the Colbert Report seemed like a huge hint. While we assumed that the "untitled" song was a sure bet to land on the LP, when To Pimp A Butterfly finally arrived, it was strangely nowhere to be found. Terrace Martin, who produced the majority of Kendrick's new album, has revealed to Complex that the song was never intended to exist outside of that performance. Martin described the song as "just a moment," adding that there is not even a scratch recording of the song out there. "It don't even exist nowhere in the world... except on the Colbert Report," he said.

A$ap Rocky Explains Rakim Influence on Sophomore Album Title

A$AP Rocky says he's "claiming ownership" of his legacy with his upcoming album "A.L.L.A." A$AP Rocky's sophomore title acronym, A.L.L.A., was deciphered yesterday thanks to a video of Rocky spitting a verse from an album cut for GQ. Following up that look at Rocky's photo shoot/album, GQ has released their full profile on the Jiggy Harlem spitter, where he speaks on the meaning behind A.L.L.A. Perhaps the most obvious is the fact that is references Allah, something which Rocky mentions in his explanation. "Look at it: At.Long.Last.A$AP. A-L-L-A. Like slang for 'Allah.' It's the return of the god MC," he told the men's magazine. "I'm named after Rakim, and I'm finally facing what it means: I was born to do this shit. And I hope I get to do it for a very long time." "I'm claiming ownership of my legacy," the Mob leader stated. The album doesn't have a release date, but could arrive as early as the summer.

T-Pain's New Mixtape Will Feature Unheard Aaliyah Vocals [Update: Full Tracklist Revealed]

T-Pain's upcoming mixtape, "The Iron Way", will feature an Aaliyah collaboration. The newly released "Wait a Minute" with OG Maco has us hyped for T-Pain's The Iron Way. After performing a 42 song set at SXSW, he sat down with VIBE and revealed the other features on his upcoming mixtape. Aside from Maco, The Iron Way will feature Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., and, most surprisingly, Aaliyah. Many artists have featured snippets of the late, great Baby Girl's records on their own tracks, but, apparently, T-Pain has got a hold of Aaliyah vocals that no one's heard before. Pain has kept this Aaliyah track, which he's calling "Girlfriend", in his personal stash for a few years now and thinks The Iron Way is the the perfect opportunity to let it drop. If "Girlfriend" doesn't have you ready for the new T-Pain x DJ Drama mixtape, we don't know what will. The Iron Way drops this Friday, March 27. Thoughts on a T-Pain x Aaliyah collaboration? Rihanna Is Reportedly Dropping a New Single Today

Rihanna hints that new music is dropping tomorrow on her Instagram. Rihanna's new album, which has been given the working title R8, has been rumored to be dropping as a surprise release since last year. Today we got our first clue as to when it may be coming, and it looks like it COULD be tomorrow. Rih captioned a photo (which may or may not be the album cover) with three hastags: "#March26,” “#R8,” and “#BBHMM”. Fans have unpacked that the third tag stands for "Bitch Better Have My Money", now the question is -- is it the title of the album, a song, or perhaps just a classic Rihanna-ism that doesn't actually play into the release. We'll have to wait 'til tomorrow to see what happens, but it seems there's no way we aren't coming out of it without some new music. While she linked to her website, RihannaNOW.com, it's since crashed following the announcement. Now that Rihanna's website is back up-and-running, the url code of the photo has revealed it to be single artwork rather than album artwork. From this we can assume that a new record called "Bitch Better Have My Money" (the title is written in brail on the artwork, much like "FourFiveSeconds") will be released tomorrow. Though we're hoping it'll happen at midnight, we'll just have to wait and see when it'll pop up.

Action Bronson & Earl Sweatshirt First Week Sales Projections

Action Bronson and Earl Sweatshirt will move similar amounts opening week. Action Bronson's Mr. Wonderful was much heavier on the promo side than its same-day release partnerI Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside, but despite that, the two are neck-in-neck when it comes to sales. Brosolino's efforts will hopefully pay off though, as he is expected to move a bit more than Earl Sweatshirt, who is upset that his record label fumbled his surprise album. Do you think that effected his album sales? According to the ever reliable Hits Daily Double, Bronson is on course to move 37k-42k opening week. Earl is close on his heels, with a projected 30k-35k units opening week. Stay tuned for final numbers next week, and keep your eyes peeled for our reviews of both albums. [Via HNHH]

Drake's "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" Reportedly Set For A Physical Release Next Month

Drake's "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" will be in stores April 21st, according to industry sources. As much as Drake insists on calling If You're Reading This It's Too Late a mixtape, it's release has been anything but. After putting the project out as a paid download on iTunes in February, the nearly-platinum project will reportedly be headed to shelves in April, with two bonus cuts in tow. Whether Drake has endorsed the move, or it's simply a label cash in is hard to say, but according to HDD, IYRTITL will be available in stores April 21st, and will feature radio staple "How Bout Now" and a brand new cut called "My Side" on its tracklist. There's been no confirmation on Drake's end concerning the release, so don't get too excited yet. We'll keep you posted on any developments.

Are Christina Milian & Lil Wayne Making It Official?

Christina Milian and Lil Wayne were caught on camera holding hands, only increasing the general public's suspicion that they're dating. The relationship between Christina Milian and Lil Wayne remains mysterious. Is it strictly business, with Weezy F helping give Milian a much-needed publicity and/or career boost, or is it a matter of two Young Money artists in lurve? Christina, on her part, denied rumors that the two were an item in the past. In a separate interview, she gave a very vague yet cloy response by stating the two had a "cool" relationship which needed to be "protected" from the world. Perhaps the two are finally ready to let down their guard, as they've been caught holding hands. In public. The image, which you can see above, shows Weezy and The-Dream's baby mama holding hands as they leave a movie set. It was taken yesterday. What does it mean??? Please provide answers in comments.

Jay Z Merges TIDAL and WiMP Streaming Services

Following Jay Z's acquisition, TIDAL and WiMP streaming services will live under the former's name. Jay Z is making moves in the streaming game, acquiring Aspiro, a company which hosted two European music streaming companies-- TIDAL and WiMP --for a cool $56 million earlier this year. He's no ready to relaunch the sites, but he's decided to turn them into one entity, known simply as TIDAL. The new version of TIDAL will feature streaming of both audio and video, and will remain as a hi-fi listening experience, offering lossless quality files to premium users. Spotify, Rdio, and BeatsMusic have yet to introduce this level of fidelity to their service, but last we checked, TIDAL also boasted a $20/month price tag, a good double the price of its competitors. The new site will also feature some editorial features, which makes us think Life + Times may be finding a second home within the site (the L+T url currently redirects there). The new layout will be launching next week, so stay tuned to see what Hov has in store for us.

A$ap Rocky's Full Album Title Revealed

A$AP Rocky's sophomore album is set to be titled "At.Long.Last.A$AP." This morning we got a little teaser verse from A$AP Rocky's highly anticipated sophomore effort, A.L.L.A. For a while we simply knew the album title by its acronym, but along with that acapella verse from GQ, we get the complete album title: At.Long.Last.A$AP. Once again his crew and movement is represented in the album title, and utilizes the same letters for an acronym as both his debut album and mixtape. Recently Rocky revealed that he's aiming for a summer release with A.L.L.A., on top of which, the album is basically finished. Confirmed collaborators so far include FKA Twigs, Clams Casino and Lykke Li. Watch him spit a verse off the new album during his photo shoot with GQ here.

Run The Jewels were Attacked on Stage at SXSW,Killer Mike Suffers injury

Run the Jewels had a man run up on them while performing on stage at SXSW. While performing down at SXSW in Austin, Texas on Monday, Killer Mike and El-P had a stupid, unidentified man run up on stage and try attacking them, but Killer Mike wasn’t having any of it (like the OG he is). The incident was only a minor hiccup in the show though as the duo's crew got the man out of the area, and they continued on with the show. But according to certain crowd-goer, El-P was quoted saying afterwards "We have no idea what that was," while Killer Mike added, “That was a fuckboy.” Thanks to a few IG users who were in attandance, we can now see what went down. The first clip shows the initial encounter on stage, while the second one shows the man trying to go after the audience before security handles him. As a result of the attack on-stage, Killer Mike suffered an injury, according to NME. The duo returned to the scene of the crime, Stubbs BBQ in Austin, Texas, and when set to perform "Banana Clippers" again (which was the song that they were playing during the incident), El-P warned the crowd, "Last time we did this song, it was interrupted. Let's not let that happen again." Killer Mike added: "If you interrupt this song we'll beat the fuck out of you." Mike went on to reveal that after flying home to see his doctor, he was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff. "I was like, 'doctor, I'm not leaving the road - the tour goes on!'"

Thousands Line Up for Kendrick Lamar Album Signing in Compton

Kendrick Lamar hosts well-attended album signing at a Compton Best Buy. An estimated 2,500 fans turned out for Kendrick Lamar's Saturday album signing at a Best Buy in Compton, his first public appearance in his hometown since the release of To Pimp A Butterfly earlier this week. “It feels good to be back in my city, to go out here and see these kids still motivated by my music and by my dreams and aspirations,” he told ABC7. Kendrick had only words of thanks and praise for his fans. "I wanna say thank you. Thank you for believing in me since day one. I've been doing my thing on the underground scene for years, you know, proud to be putting out any albums. These the same people that have been rocking with me so I want to say thank you for believing in me and I believe in you the same, so as long as we believe in each other, I will continue to do this music." Timbaland says Aaliyah visited him in a Dream an called Tink "The One"

Timbaland claims Aaliyah appeared in a dream and spoke to him about Tink, his latest prodigy. At just 19, Tink, Timbaland's latest prodigy, is already one of hip-hop's rising stars. She's in the running for this year's Freshmen class (she made our list), and we're expecting her debut album on Tim's Moseley Music imprint later this year. Tonight (March 21), during the final Fader SXSW showcase, Timbaland told the crowd that his partnership with Tink is meant to be. Timbaland performed a DJ set before bringing out Tink to rap over some of his latest productions. The Chicago emcee performed new material from her upcoming album, including a track that interpolates Aaliyah's "One in a Million". This was surprising considering the sacred esteem in which Timbaland holds Aaliyah's body of work, but, after Tink's rendition, he was quick to convey how serious he is about her potential. "I don’t touch any of my sister’s records. I don’t touch Baby Girl’s records—you know that’s Aaliyah," he told the crowd. Though, in this case, he was given permission by the woman herself: "She [Aaliyah] spoke to me in my sleep and said, 'She's the one.'" Damn, that sounds like an incredible dream. Do you agree with Timbaland's prophecy? Watch the clip of Tim recounting the dream below. [via FADER]

Gaye Family seeks Correction in "Blurred Lines" decision to include T.I.,T.I. Responds

T.I. responded to the Gaye Family's desire to "correct" the "Blurred Lines" by listing him as copyright infringer. Marvin Gaye's family won $7.4 million from the "Blurred Lines" decision handed down on March 10th, but they aren't done yet. They recently filed a motion to "correct" the jury's verdict by adding Universal Music, Interscope Records, and Star Entertainment, and T.I. to the list of infringers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. TMZ caught up with T.I. at LAX, and T.I. had the following to say on the subject: "I don't know what's going on, I never really got caught up in that. I have nothing but admiration and respect for the legacy and estate. And I have nothing but support and extreme admiration for my partner Pharrell. Whatever happened, the universe agreed with it. I know that I'm a writer, I'm a creator, I know that I don't steal from anybody creatively when I make my music. I know that and I think that anybody with common sense is going to be able to see that when they listen to it. "Whatever it is, that's out of my hands. Whatever happens, the right thing will always be [me] being exonerated, because I know I did the right thing and I ain't intend to steal from anybody on any of my material.

Lil Wayne Reportedly Reveals That Drake Hooked Up With His Girlfriend In Proposed Tell-All Book

Lil Wayne is reportedly shopping a tell-all book to publishers, and one excerpt where he finds out Drake slept with his girlfriend has made its way online. Lil Wayne may only be in his early 30s, but he's been through more than most people will in a lifetime. Apparently, Wayne feels its time he documented some of those experiences, as TMZ reports the rapper has been shopping a new tell-all book to publishers. The gossip site was also able to obtain an excerpt from the proposed memoir, which happened to be a particularly juicy story about a time Drake visited the rapper while he was serving his 8 month jail sentence at Riker's Island. Apparently, Drake chose this moment to tell his Young Money boss that he had slept with a woman Wayne was currently seeing, and while it happened before the relationship started, it was actually the day before Wayne met her. "This is the type of shit that a man never wants to find out when he's locked up. Or, maybe so, cause only God knows what I would have done if I wasn't locked up right now," he wrote. "Finding out that she fucked Drake was the absolute worst thing I could've ever found out... As a man, honestly, that shit hurt ... and not because it was Drake, it could have been any man. It would've hurt the same." Weezy added that Drake advised against pursuing a relationship with the woman, saying, "Yeah, it's true. Don't fuck with her like that cause I did fuck her." All we have to say is that if Wayne is in fact writing a tell-all, we'll be first in line. [Via HNHH]

ASAP Rocky's Album Is Finished, Will Feature FKA Twigs & Clams Casino

A$AP Rocky shares some details of his upcoming sophomore album. ASAP Rocky was one of the biggest breakout rappers of the last few years, getting signed and releasing his debut album in an insanely short timeframe after first breaking through with "Purple Swag" and "Peso". His sophomore album has been cooking for a lot longer though, and fans have been eagerly awaiting any news on his follow-up to Long.Live.A$AP. In a new interview with Billboard, Rocky revealed that the LP is coming sooner than we think. "Honestly, it's finished," he said. "I'm mastering it right now. It's coming soon. Seriously soon." He later hinted that the album may be dropping unannounced. "I don't consider it a surprise -- you put it out there and it's art, that's the surprise," he said of the recent trend of dropping the rollout format. "I hope people are surprised by my album. I don't know what to expect, I just do what I do." As far as collaborators go, he listed LLA producer Clams Casino, as well as Lykke Li and FKA Twigs (who he apparently worked with a good 3 years ago). You can read the full interview here. Look out for the album sooner than later.

Asap Yams' Cause of Death Revealed

ASAP Yams' death found to be accidental. Back on January 18th, the hip-hop community lost one of its greats when A$AP mob founder, A$AP Yams, was tragically found dead in his NYC apartment. The cause of his death was unknown at the time, but we now have some new details. According to NYT pop critic Jon Caramanica, the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled A$AP Yams' death accidental. The cause of death was reported to be an acute mixed drug intoxication, which included opiates and benzodiazepine (See tweet below). If you remember, Rocky released a statement, denying the rumors that Yams had died from an overdose, but was apparently misinformed. Rocky originally stated, “People were saying that Yams overdosed on drugs — he didn’t overdose on any drugs. I feel like people feel that way because that’s all he’s in pictures doing. When you see A$AP Yams you see Hennessey or purple drink, you see some type of controlled substance or illegal narcotic.” Jon Caramanica @joncaramanica Follow Sad news: Chief Medical Examiner calls ASAP Yams's death accident caused by acute mixed drug intoxication (incl. opiates & benzodiazepine) 6:32 PM - 19 Mar 2015

Azealia Banks Stirs Controversy In Playboy Interview

Read excerpts from Azealia Banks's intimate interview with Playboy. These days, the women who cover Playboy are also the subject of an article within the magazine. The latest Playboy cover star is rapper Azealia Banks. We've already seen a few photos from the shoot, and now we get the text to the interview Playboy recently conducted with the Harlem rapper. Azealia Banks is not one to censor herself, on social media or otherwise, and her chat with Playboy is no different. She begins with her hatred toward the United States: "I hate everything about this country. Like, I hate white fat Americans. All the people who are crunched into the middle of America, the real fat and meat of America, are these racist conservative white people who live on their farms." She also thinks the general curriculum in America is damaging to black students: "All you know as a black kid is we came over here on a boat, we didn’t have anything, and we still don’t have anything. But what was happening in Africa? What culture were we pulled away from? That information is vital to the survival of a young black soul." As you can see, Banks has never been one to shy away from the topic of race: "Black people need reparations for building this country, and we deserve way more fucking credit and respect." She goes on to say that Jay Z is the only person in music she cares to emulate: "In American society, the game is to be a nonthreatening black person. That’s why you have Pharrell or Kendrick Lamar saying, “How can we expect people to respect us if we don’t respect ourselves?”... Even Kanye West plays a little bit of that game—“Please accept me, white world.” Jay Z hasn’t played any of those games, and that’s what I like." She follows by acknowledging the controversy inherent in her statements, though she says the media's quickness to scrutinize her is also due to race: "Lorde can run her mouth and talk shit about all these other bitches, but y’all aren’t saying she’s angry. If I have something to say, I get pushed into the corner." What do you think about Azealia's comments? Catch Azealia covering the print edition of Playboy, which hits newsstands (March 20).

50 Cent Calls Joe Budden A "Bitch" On Twitter

50 Cent had some harsh words for Joe Budden on Twitter, which he later retracted, blaming the vodka. Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is the producer of, as well as a recurring cast member in, the Starz TV show "Power". Last night, 50 tweeted that "Power" will return on June 6, including a short trailer for the upcoming season, and the quote: "Empires are built on POWER". Joe Budden soon quoted 50's tweet, following with "They petty lol". Joe was apparently referencing the quote at the end of the trailer, "It only starts a war if they know you did it," but 50 initially took Joe's tweet as a diss, and quickly responded with, "what you say bitch!!" Joe was confused and soon clarified that "Power" is his favorite show, and, indeed, it looks like Joe might be watching more closely than the show's own producer. After going back and watching the trailer, 50 realized Joe meant no shade, and he apologized, blaming his earlier antics on #EFFENVODKA, the vodka company he currently has a stake in. Pharrell Speaks On "Blurred Lines" Ruling

Cole Diss Travi$ Scott Speaks On Kanye West And Perceived J. Cole Diss Pharrell speaks on the "Blurred Lines" case, saying the ruling signals a threat to creativity everywhere. Last week, a Los Angeles jury deemed Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke guilty of copyright infringement for their 2013 single "Blurred Lines". The lawsuit was brought forth by the family of Marvin Gaye, whose 1977 hit "Got to Give It Up" was said to be plagiarized by "Blurred Lines". Pharrell and Thicke were ordered to pay a total of $7.3 million to the Marvin Gaye estate. Today, Pharrell has spoken on the case for the first time since the verdict. Speaking to The Financial Times, Pharrell said, "The verdict hampers any creator out there who who is making something that might be inspired by something else," and not just in music: "This applies to fashion, music, design… anything. If we lose our freedom to be inspired, we're going to look up one day and the entertainment industry as we know it will be frozen in litigation." Earlier today (March 19), Marvin Gaye's children released a letter to the public, saying if the artists involved with "Blurred Lines" had approached them in the beginning, a trial could have been avoided. The Gaye family has also filed a motion to extend the guilty verdict to T.I., who was featured on the single, as well as Universal, Interscope, and Star Trak, all the labels involved with the song's release. "Everything that's around you in a room was inspired by something or someone. If you kill that, there's no creativity." Do you agree with Pharrell's threatening outlook on the verdict?

Mac Miller being Sued for $150,000 by 70s Funk Band Aquarian Dream

Mac Miller is being sued again for more sample clearance issues, Copyright in becoming a scary force in the music industry. As much as its always been around, things have been tightening in recent years, pushing things to the brink with the Marvin Gaye estate's victory over Pharrell and Robin Thicke in the "Blurred Lines" suit. Mixtapes were once a safe place from this kind of shenanigans, but as the internet becomes a more restricted place, they've too been targeted in these type of suits. Mac Miller's "Therapy," which appeared on his 2014 tape, Faces, has been hit with a copyright claim from 70s funk band Aquarian Dream to the the tune of $150,000. The band, whose song "Yesterday (Was So Nice Today)" was sampled in the track, says they reached out to Mac's team, who then confirmed that they had attempted to make contact with the band about the use, but went ahead with it after receiving no reply. Seeing as "Therapy" is not a commercial track, we're confused as to why any clearance would be needed, but judging by recent events, they may have a case. This isn't actually the first time mac has been approached about a mixtape track, being sued by Lord Finesse over a sample on a free song a few years back.

First Week Sales Projections For Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp A Butterfly"

Here are the projected first week numbers for "To Pimp a Butterfly". After setting a Spotify streaming record, with almost 10 million streams on its first day, the next question on everyone's mind: What kind of numbers will To Pimp a Butterfly move in its first week? Remember that TDE CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith predicted a whopping one million. Well, it's safe to say Tiffith was overly optimistic with his seven figure projection, but, nonetheless, the album's first week projections are very impressive. According to HDD, whose estimates we can usually trust, To Pimp a Butterfly will sell between 350 and 375 thousand copies its first week (including streaming; 300-325k without). These initial numbers fall well below the first week numbers of Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late, which were close to 500k. The album should, however, outperform Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, which moved 242k during its first week. Remember, physical copies of TPAB arrived in stores a couple of days after the surprise online release. These numbers are still projections, and they are subject to change during the remainder of the week. We'll be sure to notify you when the actual figures come in. Do you think these numbers accurately match the quality of TPAB? They certainly put those Drizzy numbers in perspective. It's now up to Kanye West to top 500k. [Via HNHH]

Game Announces New Release Date for "The Documentary 2"

Game sets a new release date for "The Documentary 2", still in time for the 10th anniversary of its predecessor. Game has been getting us hyped for his upcoming album, The Documentary 2, with big collabs with DeJ Loaf and Meek Mill. Though we've long missed the initial January 18 released date, Game tells Revolt TV that the album will be out this summer, still in time for the 10th anniversary of The Documentary. The album will be out on June 30, which also happens to be his son's birthday. Ten years after what's widely considered to be Game's best album, the Compton rapper is now on his sixth album, and he thinks The Documentary 2 will be his best yet, saying, "The old me was wack. I'm better than that now." In addition to the brief interview, Revolt also takes us behind the scenes of a concert celebrating The Documentary's 10th anniversary. There were some special guests at the show, including: Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, and Schoolboy Q. We already know there's gonna be Dre production on The Documentary 2--we can only hope for some help from the TDE camp, as well. Will you be copping The Documentary 2 this summer?

Future Announces "Dirty Sprite 2" Mixtape

Future is preparing a sequel to his 2011 mixtape, "Dirty Sprite". There isn't a whole lot of consensus in the Future mixtape canon (namely because there are so many, and pretty much all of them are good), but Dirty Sprite is generally agreed upon as a strong contender for the Atlanta rapper's best non-album work. Early fans will be excited to hear the news that Fewtch is working on a follow-up to the beloved project, announcing the news on Twitter today. The new tape comes just a few months after Future hit us with both the menacing Metro Boomin-produced Monster, and the bright, poppy Beast Mode. We're still waiting on Ape Shit, his upcoming tape with Mike WiLL, so we're excited to learn who he'll he collaborating with on DS2. The first installment featured beats from Sonny Digital, DJ Spinz, and Nard & B, as well as WiLL and Zaytoven, so we should expect a good range of producers. Chris Brown Calls Karrueche A "Thot" For Posting Bikini Pictures On Instagram

Chris Brown decides to shame ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran for posting some bikini pictures on Instagram. Chris Brown has a pretty horrible reputation with women, and his breakup with Karrueche Tran hasn't made it any better. After instances in which the singer attempted to air out his girlfriend's business on social media earlier this year, it was revealed that he had a 9-month-old daughter with a model named Nia a couple weeks ago. When the news broke, Tran called it quits with Brown, but apparently he's not over her just yet. Brown could not resist commenting on a photo Karrueche posted to the 'Gram today, in which she posed in a bikini, deciding to take the opportunity to mansplain thirst trap etiquette to his ex. "Thirst trap 101. continue to be a lady beautiful… U are perfect… Don’t let the thot form from anger," he wrote, but later deleted. So far, Tran has decided to leave it be. Reginae Carter, otherwise known as Lil Wayne's daughter isn't happy with Young Thug's plans to release "Carter 6". Young Thug confirmed that he would in fact be releasing a project called Carter 6, and people aren't happy about it, particularly Lil Wayne's daughter, Reginae Carter, who tweeted about the title earlier. While Wayne has yet to comment on the announcement, his kin has stepped in to defend his legacy, with Reginae calling Thugger "childish" for lifting the series from her father. "Try again if you're even trying to get on my fathers level," she wrote, adding later, "I usually stay in a child's place but that's my father and I'll stick up for him no matter what ! Lil Wayne Announces "Sorry 4 The Wait 2" Release Party Tour

Lil Wayne will be throwing a series of release parties for his latest mixtape, "Sorry 4 The Wait 2". Lil Wayne's Sorry 4 The Wait 2 was an important mixtape, if only that it was the first time Wayne expressed his frustration with Cash Money on record. Apparently, Wayne has decided that it's important enough to throw a string of release parties for, even if they happen to take place a good two months after the release. Wayne will hit up a selection of nightclubs over the next month or so, hosting events, and playing some fan favorites from the tape. He'll also be releasing the video for the opening track from the tape, an inspired take on OT Genasis' "CoCo". Young Thug Confirms his Next Project will be called "Carter 6"

Young Thug is definitely working on a project called "Carter 6". Who knew Carter 6 would come out before Carter 5? Better yet, who knew Carter 6 would be performed by anyone other than Lil Wayne himself. Last year, Young Thug hinted that his first proper studio album would bear the title, as he planned to follow in Wayne's footsteps following his proposed retirement. Since then, Weezy has been battling his label to have his swan song released, but has been unsuccessful in dropping the album. Weirdly, this has not stopped Thugger's plans to release the follow up, as today he shared a snippet of a "Grindin'" remix on Instagram, captioning it "#CARTER6 OTW". His reps at 300 confirmed the project in a tweet, though it's not clear if the title belongs to Thug's debut album, or is simply another mixtape. The fact that he shared a freestyle to one of Wayne's songs along with the announcement suggests the latter, though a circulated tracklist for C5 did list him as a feature on the official remix.

50 Cent To Stand Trial For Posting Rick Ross' Baby Mama's Sex Tape On Youtube

Lastonia Leviston, the woman who appears in the sex tape, sued 50 for emotional distress in 2010, and the trial date for her lawsuit was just recently finalized. In 2009, a 50 Cent-Rick Ross beef led to 50's alleged acquisition of the sex tape in question, featuring Leviston and her ex-boyfriend Maurice Murray. 50 allegedly blurred out Murray's face (but not Leviston's) and added his own narration before posting the tape to YouTube. 50 will likely be ordered to fork over some of his Vitamin Water money, but one doubts he'll be losing much sleep over this trial.
