Bill O'Reilly Thinks Rap Music Is Hurting Christianity

Bill O'Reilly feels the glorification of "depraved behavior" in hip-hop is to blame for the decline of Christianity. Bill O'Reilly has shown a lack of logic throughout his career, most thoroughly in his declaration that you "can't explain" the rising of the tide. Today, he's made yet another unsubstantiated claim, this time targeting one of his favorite scapegoats -- rap music. When discussing the recent decline of Christianity, particularly with youths, O'Reilly suggested that the popularity of hip-hop among the demographic may be to blame. "The rap industry, for example, often glorifies depraved behavior," he said. "That sinks into the minds of some young people - the group that is most likely to reject religion". What Bill refrained to acknowledge was that some of the biggest artists in rap -- namely Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West -- have made a point of incorporating Christianity into their music; something you generally won't find happening in other genres unless the artists actively define themselves as Christian acts. Perhaps Cam'ron could stop by Bill's show again to discuss the matter. [Via HNHH]
