Drake Explains What Happened To The "Wu-Tang Forever" Remix & Video
Drake finally dishes on what went wrong with the planned Wu-Tang collaboration. Drake's Nothing Was The Same was chuck full of Wu-Tang references, from getting Timbaland to interpolate the iconic "C.R.E.A.M." hook, to shouting out ODB, and yes, even Cappadonna. However, the biggest homage to the crew was Wu-Tang Forever, a song which was rumored to be remixed with several members of the Clan, but for some reason, never came to fruition. In a recent interview with Vulture, Drake finally cleared things up. Drizzy revealed-- to no one's surprise --that it basically came down to scheduling conflicts, but he also shared some new info on what sounds like it could've been a pretty awesome music video. "Oh, man, that’s kind of behind us," he said of the Wu mix. "That was two projects ago. There was a remix that 40 [Noah Shebib] was working on. He has a really personal relationship with a lot of those guys from Wu-Tang, and me and [ASAP] Rocky were working on a video at one point in Harlem, and it was cool, but with schedules and all that, different things came into play and we never really got to finish, which is not something I recommend. You should always try and finish your music video." Unfortunately we'll never get to hear Raekwon rap on a 40 beat, or see ASAP Rocky do dialog with Ghostface.
