Rich Homie Quan Apologizes Again for Questionable Song with Rape Lyrics
After another questionable song surfaces, Rich Homie Quan has reinforced that he does not condone rape. Earlier this year, a collection of over a hundred Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug songs leaked onto the internet, allegedly from various studio sessions over the last few years. While there were plenty of gems within the large offering, one song in which Rich Homie Quan described raping a woman was a troubling discovery. While the rapper released a statement on the song, indicating that it was "never intended to be released," fans weren't necessarily ready to accept the apology, and to make matters worse, a second song which also found Quan threatening a woman with rape surfaced shortly thereafter. In a new interview with Billboard today, Quan made an effort to give a better apology, agreeing that he owes his fans an explanation following the second song making rounds. "I do not condone or promote rape. I'm not a rapist," he said. "That song was recorded in December 2012. I was young and just rapping. At the time, I had no guidance in my life. I blame it on that. So I apologize once more to my fans." The controversy does not seem to be affecting the rapper's success however, as his new single, "Flex" is his best performance on the charts yet, and it's still climbing. "'Flex' was something new for me; it's me stepping out," he told the magazine. "But I'm not a dance song type of person, so I'm not going to say you can expect a lot of those kinds of songs. The album is a lot of narrating; it's just me telling my story, telling it how it is." How do you feel about Quan's most recent apology? Do you forgive him?
